What was the VERY WORST thing someone said and/or called you regarding their commentary on your hubs.      Were you ever called a profane epithet or worse ?    Were you even threatened and told to die regarding your hub or hubs?    While disagreement is fine in commentaries and is expected, it is quite ANOTHER thing to harass and threaten hub authors!   That behavior is totally unconscionable to say the least!

Someone did not appreciate my comment on another person's Hub (not his own) and sent an email calling me all sorts of profane names. Then he ended by saying he knows where I Iive and threatened to kill me. All over a Hub that he has no part of. He was immediately banned because I sent the entire email to HP staff. There are some mean and crazy people out here on the internet.

Article cheerleading injuries. Person said girls should expect injuries in that sport. One person in article is paralyzed. I thought comment was not necessary and rude. No other bad ones so lucky me lol

gmwilliams.....It is not only unconscionable, it is highly frowned upon and quite honestly, totally unnecessary.  Name-calling or threats should never happen here on HP.  Should the moderators see such behavior, I have no doubt they would have some harsh admonishments of their own, for those who harass or threaten.  I'm sorry you experienced this.  For your own sake, I would certainly delete such comments and in the future, ignore them.

The worst I have ever gotten was some harsh criticism and/or sarcasm from whom I suspect are sock puppets, but that doesn't bother me. Its nothing I would feel the need to delete. Gmwilliams if you are getting insults on your hubs, I highly recommend you report it to hubpages!

I'm a new hubber, so I haven't received much attention or scrutiny on my hubs yet. However, I did post a forum, which I thought would be harmless where I realized how offensive people around here can be. It almost made me feel as if everyone was out to get each other. if we're all here to write should we not help each other and support one another?
    I hate the hate.

Get used to it... Sorry. But around here, if you post something that someone else thinks is wrong, they'll often stoop to insults. As we aren't responsible for the things we say on the internet, people aren't sensitive to hurting other's feelings as much. I have been called names a lot, but the most memorable one was "wage slave" when I posted a forum about how Hubpages was blocked by my work because somebody wrote a hub about Marijuana. "Wage slave" in itself wouldn't be that insulting, but someone thought it would be nice to pick on the fact that I have a job because they didn't like what I had to say. Then people started posting one-worded posts containing the names of drugs, seeing how long it would take for the forum to get blocked by my work. Oh, and another time recently I said I found the subject of geography to be boring, then this poster started attacking me on how I was an "uneducated American" and how American school suck. That got pretty offensive, too. Those are probably the worst things to have happened to me directly, but I see that kind of stuff happening all the time to others. If you were around when forum post counts were shown, you would notice that it's usually from those users with literally thousands of posts. Usually the same six or seven users that try to have an opinion about everything. You can't see post counts anymore, but you'll start recognizing users. Honestly what I do now is when they say something rude directly to me, I tell them I'm done talking to them and don't ever respond again. Sorry this community seems so unwelcoming to you, but honestly, I have felt 'unwelcomed' ever since I started posting to the forums. Just keep writing Hubs, usually the comments that end up on Hubs are nicer that forum comments.

I've been threatened several times because I posted an analysis of a scam or two, and call them scams (which is what they are). Here's one quote:

"i hope some one goes psycho on you and we see you on 5 o'clock news, internet bumb victim of homicide."

Yep, that's a death threat all right. And yes, it's published for all to see... how sick these scammers are.
