I have earned a payout of $879 for this month, from my account that is in Squidoo. Being a journalish, I didn't have enough time to make 'perfect' articles. I just let them stay there. I didn't earn anything in the first six months.
But something good happened after the Panda hit cleared up. I got $60 for one month. Then it steadily increased, and this month I did a pretty well salary for a hobby. I hope I can buy a lens-kit for my Nikon with that money. Anyway, it's pleasing to get rewarded for creative endeavors.
That's great! I have two lenses over there. I was wondering what articles do better on Squidoo? I have no idea what to put there. Any advice?
Same sort of thing as HP, Cardisa. If you need any help with Squidoo, you can find me there under the same name or contact me directly via HP
Don't you find the formatting more time consuming on Squidoo?
I much prefer the HP layout BUT looking at the traffic stats, Squidoo is definitely outperforming HP at the moment.
The only problem I find with their capsule is the lack of formatting. I can't highlight any words so it's kinda boring looking. But I think it's quite easy. As a matter of fact I thinks it's more straightforward to use than HP.
You can do more with it, as you can use HTML right in the module. I have a Firefox extension that allows me to highlight and carry out several basic HTML tasks automatically. It takes longer to build a lens than a hub, for sure, but ultimately, it has a better chance of earning for you. One of my lenses is three years old and has earned over $1500 since I first wrote it.
That must be excruciating. This old "Drupal", "Quark" Is bad enough. Welcome to the 21st century . . . Adobe Muse.
Thank you Theraggededge, will definitely check you out.
Well as I said, I did it as hobby and I poured content that I have firsthand experience with (in my case its journalism from an European viewpoint). I didn't have enough time to research what Squidoo likes or dislikes.
All I can say is that Squidoo doesn't like poetry and similar stuff. They are busy to provide content for Google. They need fleshy content.
That might give you a chance to go for the money shot here!
Nice effort, well done, but your post I'm sure, raises a green eyed sheeesssh from a few at HP
Formatting has little to do with online articles, and making money with them. People who are looking for information via Google, doesn't care much whether articles look beautiful or not (as far as I've noticed). They are looking for the exact information.
Besides, we don't use Audi or Ferrari for mass-transport. We use buses.
Good heavens. Don't people recognise a troll when he comes stinking out his lair?
I am embarrassed for all the contributors to this thread. Kudos to the troll, though. He is some kind of weird obsessive determined to perfect his art.
Because he has no hubs here? I don't think that is a valid reason to call someone a troll.
I would like to check out his articles on Squidoo to be sure he is who is says he is.
He does however have familiarity with the forums, sound a lot like another user etc. If I had to lay a bet, I would put it on sockpuppet forum troll.
I guess I am naive to the whole troll thing and when we see dollar signs we get all psyched....no pun intended...lol
I would immediate apologize for my suspicions if he shared his Squidoo name.
Stop seeing their $ Signs.... that is totally the wrong perspective!
Always consider that one's $s and how they flash them, is merely a % of their true worth!
Looking at his profile, he calls himself Frank Krause, a journalist from Germany, yet the picture he uses there is that of Frank Krause, CFO of Vodafone in Hungary. Is he fooling anyone?
http://www.budapesttimes.hu/2010/11/03/ … e-changes/
What's up with the smiley face? They grew old by 1986.
Your army of sock puppets have grown old, too.
Dude, smiley faces aren't old. They will never be old. And this is coming from me, a kid who's still in the "I know what's cool and in" group. Get with the program!
Yeah. They're some often-used words in the English language. Dictionary.com is a great resource.
Yeah, back in the seventies. I've been hip since hip was hep, junior.
I wouldn't know, I wasn't alive then. You'll have to tell me what it was like wayyyyy back when. I'm not that old and creaky.
He must be laughing his pretty face off now....lol....he sure fooled me. I am so anxious about Squidoo that I would ask a dead man for advice
Oh pleeeeze... don't feel embarrassed for my contribution... I believe anything starting with a kinda speaks for itself... if not, maybe the reference to the 'money' shot was a clue!
I don't report spammers anymore... not since a troll took my 'Helpful Harry' Accolade away in an effort to de-humanize and humiliate me!
I think it would be common sense... based on how many articles you have and how well they are.
Sorry to see such morbid jealousy circling around this place. I had no idea that my post would raise such a tsunami of neurotic criticism.
Just like in real life, some people find it hard to accept that someone else is more fortunate than they are.
I'd rather take a chance on congratulating a troll than ignoring someone who is sincere.
So ridicule all you want--I don't really care!
Ultimater, Congratulations! I am so happy for you. Keep up the excellent work! You have inspired me!
Because your profile is clearly a lie, hence you forums posts probably are too.
Obvious troll is obvious.
Well I used my uncle's picture. If that is considered a lie, then too good. Your profile is a lie too by that.
Jealousy lives upon doubts. It becomes madness or ceases entirely as soon as we pass from doubt to certainty.
Francois de La Rochefoucauld
It is hard to believe you made that much on Squido. It is a micro-payout site like this one . . . a sucker's game . . . not for a serious author.
Contact me personally. I can give you the details of my account. You can see yourself. Just don't rob anything.
Journalists, even in this day and age, generally write in grammatically correct sentences.
Shall we examine your posts to see if you qualify as a grammatically correct journalist? Maybe you could tell us about some two headed sheep or a five legged forum frog.
Good. You didn't lie by claiming to be a journalist. You are a Hubber.
Exactly. Hubbers are not journalists. Hubbers just sign up and start slinging words at the search engine.
I hope you are at least a literate in German.
How many personalities do you have anyway? Just curious.
Now you are dragging my family here. Frank Krause is my uncle. I didn't realize that I would spike a mass psychosis in this venue.
Fair enough, why would you use your uncles picture and not yours? Is any of your journalism published on the internet? Searches reveal nothing.
Well, that you somehow misread my uncle's name for mine, makes your request more interesting. What are your intentions?
I posted my earnings. It wasn't an invitation that I would bottlefeed morbid jealousy or maniacal suspicion.
Ah yes, I now see you've changed your profile name to "Csaba Krause" - well done.
Please don't try to play with my name, or that of any of my relatives'. There is a limit to that.
This is getting f'n tiring. Do you not have a life? This site is for adults...
Sad to see such antagonism. Is this the way you generally treat people? Shame that you bring family names of people whom you have never met. That is not even childish.
I didn't expect such level of civility from this community. At least read people's name properly. If you would deliberately misread them to get childish attention, then I have nothing else to say.
I didn't mean to come across the wrong but i guess that's what the difference between typing and speaking is lol I was just trying to give the best answer i know since I'm new so sorry if it looked like i was coming across jealous or something I'm happy for you man good to know that you can actually make that much money on here.
Nice going. I earned $879.50 last month across my internet estates on many writing sites. Squidoo earnt me $0.30 but I have only just started my Madam Voluptuous ID so can expect more as we near the rutting season.
If anyone doubts me then I will happily vouch for myself until the cows come home.
Suspicion is the companion of mean souls, and the bane of all good society.
We haven't gotten our September payout Stats yet on Squidoo, nevermind October. So there's no way to know how much you earned in October.
If you mean from third party affiliate programs, then yes, I have more than that pending myself so it's entirely possible.
(I have the same username here and on Squidoo... and elsewhere.)
Behavior speaks for itself. The behavior, of the most people who have posted on this thread, is only found in cases of paranoid neurosis. They suspect everybody and everything. They think that anything which is outside of their narrow limit, must be false. They would obstinately deny even the most obvious reality.
Ultimater.....Hello and thank you for your post. I won't apologize for some of the rudeness and nonsense here, because that's not my job. However, I would like to ask that you not judge all hubbers by a few, who obviously have a mean streak with an agenda. I have been writing here for a little over a year. I can attest to the fact that 95% of the community here, are wonderful, intelligent and talented individuals who support & encourage one another....without nit-picking or paranoia.
If you have found a measure of success at Squidoo....this is great. Congratulations. It's this simple.
You have held you own quite well......You may want to get to know some hubbers who will not judge you and tear you apart. Have a good week-end.
fpherj48- It's good to see your sincere comment. Let me inform you that I don't expect any apology from anyone who was not involved in the mass-neurosis that I so unfortunately had to observe here.
"You may want to get to know some hubbers who will not judge you and tear you apart."
You have made a very interesting statement, fpherj48, one which accidentally reveals a dark side of this community. I don't know any civilized person who would have the need (and the mentality) to 'judge an internet stranger and tear him apart'. Even if there is any valid reason that calls for such behavior, most decent people would address the issue with objectivity, and would certainly not jump into behaving like a wild animal.
In my case, there was no valid reason whatsoever. Thank you.
I am still waiting for a user name. How can a username on a site like that remain hush hush, don't you want people reading your work? It puzzles me that you refuse to give your username.
Interesting thread here. Yes, anyone would readily tell the username if legit. Don't we all want people to read out work and check out where we write? Cardisa is right.
Some may be paranoid about providing a user name... someone may want to copy their ideas, topics, etc.. Especially if they are doing well.
I've noticed this(paranoia) amongst fellow hubbers who are secretive about the "Exclusive" titles used for their hubs.
Wow Ultimator this squidoo site sounds a real moneymaking machine. Spelling, punctuation and grammar mistakes and you still make the big bucks. Well done my son. You will easily reach $2000 a month on Hubpages with your first Hub.
Wow! You simply amaze me. Pop in here like some KING yet simply REFUSE to validate anything about yourself and your claims. I know a fake when I see one, and you, sir, if you are in fact a sir, are a true fake, trolling for attention.
Congratulations on getting your egotistical attention and for proving your are in fact a fake.
I am not begging anything. It's a simple request to validate your claims that you do have lenses on that site. Many hubbers have accounts over there and they are not afraid to share their username.
I was the first one to comment on this here thread and I was the first one to defend you here, so in no way was I acting out of superstition. I just wanted to read your work since you don't have any hubs here on Hubpages how can one really know for sure you are a writer, let alone a writer on Squidoo?
Yes, we should all have just concluded you were a liar some time ago.
I am a German and I don't claim mastery over the English language.
However, I have looked around HubPages, and have found people posting writing that would barely pass muster in high school. These 'writers' get hundreds of adsense clicks per day.
That makes a good equation.
Not sure when my father had divorced you. You look quite unfamiliar for a mother. Anyway, I could fulfill your wish. But it makes a bad case, considering the overall courtesy that is on display here.
Suspicion is one of the morbid reactions by which an organism defends itself and seeks another equilibrium.
I do see why you're so desperate to protect your equilibrium. Your cherished illusion that anything happening beyond this site, must be false.
I am not here to bottlefeed any of your neurotic tendencies. I haven't claimed anything. I have shared a true experience. If you find it hard to believe, then please move away from here. You are free not to believe it. Behave like well-bred human beings.
Well it is a bit odd that you claim a payout for this month. Squidoo doesn't pay until the 12th - 15th. Also none of us have any idea of the amount until the actual payout. So you can see that your claim is somewhat questionable. To come to he HP forums to specifically boast about Squidoo earnings is weird - I haven't seen you making the same statement on the Squidoo forum, which would be the most natural and obvious place, yes?
I cannot see your reason for posting this information at all unless you wanted to encourage newbies - and if you really wanted to do that, then you would offer evidence. Your own words underline possible fakery, not the suspicions of others.
Speaking as one who does earn a fair amount on Squidoo, I know how much hard work, and how long it takes to build up a worthwhile 'stable' of lenses. I would never, ever tell people that it is easy or quick.
"It takes longer to build a lens than a hub, for sure, but ultimately, it has a better chance of earning for you. One of my lenses is three years old and has earned over $1500 since I first wrote it."
And your point is?
I did not start a thread proclaiming my earnings. That response was to someone considering using Squidoo. I use the same name at Squidoo as I do here.
So, if you are wanting to encourage people, then be transparent. If you don't, your original post is pointless and worthless.
The point is very visible to any mature human being. I shared a fact and you did that too.
Neither you were questioned nor you 'proved' your 'claim'. On the other hand, you are pestering me with an inane request for proof. There should be a limit to hypocrisy.
Bear in mind that the lens makes at least 20 Amazon sales per month, and has done over its lifetime. It also made the #1 position on Squidoo for, oh.. about two days.
Satisfied? I've shown you mine, now you show me yours.
Ha ha ha... no it isn't! It's using the clipping tool in Windows. You are really scraping the barrel now. I couldn't make a fake screenshot if I tried.
You can always go to my Squidoo profile to verify my lens' rankings. It's all there.
Show evidence. I have a Photoshop CS3 installed in my office desktop. Anyone can create a fake screenshot using those softwares.
Dude! You are still here lying to the folks? Why don't you just accept the fact that you are a known liar and a fake now. You will NEVER have any credibility here and people simply are not going to believe a word you say beings you hide yourself and fail to offer proof of your fantasy claim.
You made a false claim and now can not back it up. Simple. Why not go to another forum somewhere online and learn from your mistakes here, make the same claim and use your fancy photo editor to create some fake creditials to back up your claim as it appears that you have experience at that with this tool.
I can't believe you guys actually care!
Why is this ridiculous 'notice me' thread still alive and being fed?
What a waste of space!
I don't care... I'm just a little bored this Sunday afternoon. That's my excuse. How about you?
That's something that can really inspire new hubbers like me.
Squidoo dumped the money in my paypal account on 12th of October. I was just quite late to collect it. I got the money by the beginning of this month.
This an interesting thread. I am sure Ultimater can appreciate that people are interested in seeing some evidence of his claim.
Most professional journalists may not reveal their sources but they do always back up there articles,
and journalism, with fact/ facts.
An example of a fact would be your pen name on Squidoo.
By the way, people on Hubpages speak different languages and I would imagine someone with a degree in journalism ( yes, that is what you need to call yourself a journalist) would be able to appreciate the common language on this web site is English and be happy to engage in a debate. I know a lot of people on this site that do not claim to be qualified in any sort of way who utilise the English language as this is the best way to communicate on the web. Many of them are not native English speakers but show an excellent standard of writing. Most professional journalists I know also spell check a lot, and ensure their standard of writing is of high quality at all times. It must be professional pride.
On top of that most people that do well on line like to share their ideas for innovation, it is their professional pride. Hope you continue to do well however I have to be honest . . . the phrase nice person wrong planet springs to mind. People on Hubpages are mostly supportive and nice but I think you are a bit of a "agitator". As a matter of fact I find Hubpages one of the better online communites and all we ask is that you are nice to us, and as a professional journalist back up your facts. Leading from the front if you know what I mean. Live long and prosper Hubpages and lots of love and positive thoughts to all my fellow Hubbers. Me voy. Quero una cerveza muy pronto. Lots of hugs to all Hubbers on planet Hub. Annie
In a healthy community, people don't ask for evidence to believe others. When they ask, it signifies underlying mass neuroticism. I live in a small European country where we have little cities and people are, for the most part, loyal and trustworthy. I never encountered this type of hostility in my real life.
It's sad to see that people here find it so hard to trust each other, and have no shame to publicly display their madness for evidence.
I didn't claim anything in my opening post. I shared a true experience. It is open to interpretation. But don't expect that I shall nurse those diseased interpretations to make you happy.
In any healthy community people show the evidence.
Check out theraggededge screenshoot.
Would you take a medicine without knowing that it would help you and not be dangerous to you? And actually you did claim something in your opening post. You claimed you earned a certain and amount and my friends here on Hubpages are asking for it to be substantiated.
It's not a fake screen shot, she just put a red border around it.
(It's on a lens with the New York Theme.)
Thanks, Christene! The clipping tool puts the border around automatically.
It seems that Ultimater is the only one showing signs of neuroticism here
I think your income is not the part of your pure lences instead you might be written something about the services and products.Well, you got the commission of you the sell of product from ebay or amozan.
You woul immediately post ur squidoo username so u can get more hits if u were being honest. Why not send traffic from hubpages?
I am not someone who is looking for free money. Besides, there are privacy issues.
what would be your point then to come to HP and write that you are making money there?
That's odd, I've never heard of journalists worrying about simple privacy issues like that.
You do claim to be a journalist, right? Even though, you have already changed your profile name from Frank to Csaba, yes?
Ultimater if you are a "journalist" then maybe you should run out and find an editor to check the grammer on your profile. "Working in the Berlin", What the hell does that mean?
In your post bragging about how much you earn, you change from a journalist to a "journalish" does that mean you are just kind of a journalist and that you have journalish tendencies?
"I did a pretty well salary for a hobby." Again what the hell does that mean?
for a journalish journalist you are a very poor writer and it is impossible to believe that you could earn 1 cent from your writing never mind over $800.
Now be a good boy, toddle off to somewhere else and tell your untruths to someone who may just believe you.....jimmy
I think most Germans would use "isch" instead of "ish" as suffixes (or suffices. jeez. now me too)
Everyone knows that all of the big money, top notch journalists are sock puppet trolls on HubPages.
I have checked a few heavyweights around here. Their 'writings' would struggle get a D-grade in any high school. If they approach any serious publishing company, their proposal would be immediately rejected and sent to trash.
These are the hubbers who get (or used to get) hundreds of AdSense clicks per day. No one knows how this happens. There must be something magical happening inside the search-engines.
"Working in the Berlin" surely contains a mistake. That's simply an extra insert and surely not a (deliberate) grammatical mistake.
I have previously said that I am a German and that my English may not be perfect. But ideas and concepts, and visual input and content organizations are also part of any writing endeavor. There are also a bunch of other aspects that makes a piece of writing interesting.
You people are some of the most uncivilized people that I have ever met. You don't have the slightest clue as how you should behave with a stranger. You love to play games the way children do in schools. You can't tolerate Squidoo (I wonder why) and anyone who earned there. But you are also selective about whom you would hate. I shared my experience here, so did many others.
This place was a trip. It seemed like a 17th Century asylum designed to threat paranoid schizophrenics.
Woah! I knew you seemed familiar, but once you mentioned the asylum, I totally remember you! You were a couple beds down from my friend's grandmother. Used to see you all the time when we visited! It's nice to see you out and about and less....well...
At least you don't appear to be eating the flies off the windowsill anymore...
Remind me to never get in a scrap with you...
And how else could I become president...? http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/105834#post2251531
Nice appreciation. But I can't believe that you are earning such a huge amount throughout. expecting yours ways to online.
And what is the name of this new novel going to be??/ It's sure to be a best seller!
Well I'm not going to lie I thoroughly enjoyed reading all of that.
Call a spade what it is.
The average UGC, evergreen or short, ought to be earning $2.40-$6.00 per day [10-25cents per/hour]. $876~$2,190 annual. If PPC program(s) are not producing this, then the program needs adjusting, content needs rebuilding or both. There are some outstanding literati on HP, Squid, Wiz and more, all raving over pennies per click. Ridiculous. If articles are scoring 85-90, with volumes of 20 to 100 pubs -or more- the average earnings for a content generator//writer should be low-end: $17,520 - $43,800; high-end: $87,600 -$219,000. Not at all surprising, these numbers reflect typical ebook//paperback sales volumes for units of 40,000 words or less in many cases.
What the OP essentially said was: in 7 months [180 days], their collective publications earned 20 cents per hour. If they have 10 pubs, each earned just 2 cents per hour. Yeats & Keating...

I didn't expect to meet here a few autistic adults as well. I didn't have a fascination for any particular website. It seems that I was wrong.

This month, proud to say, I earned $1299 from my Squidoo account. Isn't that great? I have just joined HubPages, and am very excited to expand my online writing career. Yes, it's possible to earn quite a few bucks online if you are willing to labor behind it. It has taken me one and a half year to...

Having spent 18months on hp with some success I'm starting to see the logic in diversifying to other sitesWhere do others recommend? I've had a look at squidoo and find the sports content to be far weaker than hubpages. Any other suggestions for where to write sports and health+ fitness content?
