With icy roads, high volumes of holiday travel, and end-of-year rushes, driving can get pretty dangerous this time of year. In light of our presently risky roads, I am making this week's Weekly Topic Inspiration challenge all about car safety and safe driving.
Please share your advice on driving safely and keeping your car well-oiled and functional. Who knows? Your know-how could very well save a life.

If you'd like to join in on this week's topic by writing a Hub, follow these steps:
1) Stop by this week's Weekly Topic Inspiration Question.
2) Click the green button "answer this question".
3) Click the gray button below the box (leave that empty) that says "make a Hub about it."
4) Give your Hub a very specific title, like Easy Summer Gardening Projects for Kids or Challenging Summer Activities for Teens
5) Create good quality original content that hasn't been covered before.
6) After you publish your Weekly Topic Inspiration Hub, come back to this forum thread and post a link to your Hub with a brief description of what you wrote about and why.
For more information on the Weekly Topic Inspiration program, check out the Learning Center guide.
Oh, and do you want your WTI Hub to have a shot at becoming a Hub of the Day? Make sure the images are legally used and properly attributed!
I might actually come up with something here...
I wrote it, offline. I'm going to admire it for the next few days. Then do what needs to be done to it; then figure out all the stuff in your op; then do what your op says ; then post it. If Google doesn't fall all over themselves going after this one, I'm breaking out Mr. Towel.
Edit: Not really, as to Mr. Towel. However, usual-for-me does not seem to work to the degree that I wish. So, we shall see what my latest throw-at-the-prospect(s) does...

Here's mine. I hope it helps save people from disaster.
I am not happy with my experimental hub. Gonna be tossed by QAP for sure. So as for my publishing it, that remains uncertain. Oh, well.
Merry post-Christmas, everyone. Well, I have upgraded and published my latest, greatest masterpiece. I don't have much hope for it SE-wise, but it was a fun write. So, if you want to share in the adventures of paradigmsearch, stay tuned. I will post the link, once the noindex tag is removed.
Here it is.

I will add photos once it is featured, however long that takes these days!
Oh btw, it is not in the feed. What is the point of allowing a hub to be added to the feed when it is 'under review'?
Hubs are fully published when they're Pending- they just aren't shown on Topic Pages / Hubs / to search engines yet. Is there a reason why you have chosen to add images only after the Hub is Featured? It might be less likely to be Featured if you publish it before it is absolutely ready to go.
At any rate, this is an excellent Hub! I really appreciate how you've made your advice easier to scan through your use of images and easy-to-skip-around formatting.
This never got any "traction" (couldn't resist) when I first published it as I wrote it in the spring. I have dusted it off, beefed it up with keywords etc. Maybe it will fly this time :-)
Here are my thoughts on the subject:

Well - I forgot to "hit the green button" and answer the question with a Hub, but here is my WTI-inspired winter weather driving tips Hub:
10 Tips for Driving in Winter
I took a defensive driving course a few years ago, and I'm still happy I did - now I do it regularly just to keep the cost of insurance down. I went ahead and wrote up some good reasons to take them, and then provided some links for those who want to take a course themselves. For fun, I made up a quiz. If you get a 100, then you don't need it...anyone else...might be time to check those links!

Wow guys- these are amazing! I'm going to leave this thread open for another couple of days should anyone like to contribute more (I figure a two week WTI theme might be nice for those who have been away for the holidays).
Thanks for sharing such helpful advice!

Nevertheless I wanted to offer my newest Hub to those Hubbers and readers who live in those areas hit by snow and ice. I have received sage advice over the many years of driving and I wanted to share this with you: "Road Safety Tips for Winter Drivers." http://hub.me/aeGi2
