That always happens in one way or another when anyone attempts this with a story or a poem in a forum. Which seems strange for a site that is based around writing.

Eventually he discovered she was just the alter-ego of an English woman who preferred creative writing to washing dishes.

There was one... he was a bit of a wizard himself, but she had yet to discover him... or his talents.

But there are no guns, violence or destruction in her world.

Because his good looks were a distraction to others... he didn't want to be swayed by opinion... the distorted mirror helped him forget the power he carried with his smile alone.

  14. austinhealy profile image73
    austinhealyposted 10 years ago

He got up, forgetting how fat he was, and his legs couldn't carry him, so he fell heavily on the cold hard stone floor, making a wet noise, just like  a big fish thown on the top of a boat.

  15. snakeslane profile image81
    snakeslaneposted 10 years ago

And just at that moment he woke up as the boat lurched and he heard the fish slop around in the checker.

He went out on deck, got on his pony, and began to ride.

Of course, that is what he desperately wanted to do, but he knew he couldn't, because he and the horse would plunge off the side of the boat into the deep, dark ocean.

  19. austinhealy profile image73

He realized how strange his thoughts were and said to himself : "Darn, I need a seriously spicy Bloody Mary!"

    1. phdast7 profile image78
phdast7posted 10 years agoin reply to this

He wondered pensively if the salty old boat Captain,  Jefferson, might have the ingredients for a spicy Bloody Mary stashed away in his personal cabin.

  20. janshares profile image94

As he opened the door to Captain jefferson's personal cabin, he jumped back!

    1. phdast7 profile image78

There were two men laying stretched out, seemingly lifeless, on the floor of the cabin and he didn't recognize either one of them.

  21. janshares profile image94

Now that Bloody Mary was very much needed, however, not as urgent.

  22. austinhealy profile image73
    austinhealyposted 10 years ago

But not the kind he faced right now, as Mary, the maid, was laying on the floor, covered with blood and apparently lifeless!

  23. profile image0

And then she rose up  !  He realize he'd been duped !  She wasn't bloody at all as she gave him a "come on" look !

But he didn't look back as he and the pony flew away.

  27. expertscolumn profile image65

Then as she quietly walked away, a ominous sound came from the side of the cabin.

  28. Cyndi10 profile image82
    Cyndi10posted 10 years ago

Still, he flew, oblivious to the ominous sound and he felt freer than he had in years: free of Mary, the boat, the agony of loving her and especially free of the fat man he had mistaken in the mirror.

  29. austinhealy profile image73
    austinhealyposted 10 years ago

As he flew away, Mary cried, her tears diluting the ketchup all over her dress. Maybe he was a fat pig to some, but she always had a soft spot for him. But now he was gone and Mary wept

They would need to make a fire, and strangely enough he found in his floater vest pocket, a shard of glass, a piece of his mirror!

    1. profile image0
Beth37posted 10 years agoin reply to this

Sadly, he had a bit of an ego and he spent at least 30 min. using the mirror to identify unwanted seaweed in his hair before it occurred to him that the shiny object might have another use.

  33. snakeslane profile image81

Unfortunately there were no gas stations on the island, but she did ask *him where he thought they might be, ad nauseum, until he wondered how he could have ever loved her.

  35. Pearldiver profile image69
    Pearldiverposted 10 years ago

After that nagging thought and experience, he seemed to happily spend more and more time with his mirror, not only tending to the rear areas that had been previously waxed, but also those persistent nasal hairs, which demanded time, in which, he had planned to use his small mirror for - the signalling of small boats, containing equally lonely sailors!  yikes

  36. snakeslane profile image81
    snakeslaneposted 10 years ago

Meanwhile, the pony was happy to fly around and about between nibbling on lush grasses and palm fronds, and he could see from his flights they were quite close to civilization, but kept that to himself as he was enjoying the peace and quiet.

  37. Pearldiver profile image69
    Pearldiverposted 10 years ago

To add to this diriculous and completely predictable set of events, everyone noticed that their already low seaweed supplies were being quickly carried away by lines of purple leaf cutter ants, moving endlessly, in a shimmering motion, towards the horizon and that secret civilization that only the wacko pony knew about!

  38. snakeslane profile image81

He and Mary discovered they shared a love of toasted leafcutter ants, and prepared a feast of these for New Years.

How had they never discussed their love of toasted leafcutter ants before... he wondered how many other adorable attributes he'd never noticed before.

  39. profile image0

And then the leafcutter ants rose up and began thier  dance of the mating season , as the lovers watched in awe!

Until he got a little hot under the collar, if he still had a collar, which he didn't as his clothes were in tatters... so he decided to take the remnants off... soon the ants were watching them.
