Is it just me, or has HP become a tougher town?

I still don't understand what makes my profile score go up and down, it's been up to 97 and now it's 92.  I don't know what I was doing during the 97 week, maybe more people were viewing my page?  Who knows.

You've been here 10 months and have 39 hubs, and your profile score is higher than mine. Apparently paradigmsearch has been bad again. Maybe I need to quit hanging around a certain shady hub... big_smile

I'm sure there is a random element, just so we won't get complacent...
I "explained"  it somewhat  on this posting: http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/108847

          Good one!

I decided to suck up to HP and hopped a hub. I gave it a good faith rating. Hope HP agrees with it...

        Hey, *I* like 'em.

A really big component of your Hubber Score = collective HubScores. You don't need to do anything per se for your Hubber Score to fluctuate as your HubScores change on their own.

As we've explained in our Learning Center and FAQ, other factors that affect Hubber Score include:
*Whether or not you're active on the site (i.e. have signed in recently)
*Whether you leave detailed comments on others' Hubs
*Whether you post in the Forums
*Whether you ask and answer Questions

Other things that might be associated with spammy behavior also affect Hubber Score (e.g. following tons of people over a short period of time), but none of these things have changed for a long time. The only update is that human quality ratings now play a prominent role in HubScores' calculations.

I mournfully gaze at my 2 lowest-scoring hubs. I tentatively reach for the delete button...

            Update.

Hub executions stayed. One of them is actually on page one of Google for heavens sake...

Hmmm, don't know, HP seems to like me just fine   Obviously it is an excellent judge of character.  And I think I'm far more active in the "shady corners" of the site than you big_smile

Mind you maybe that's why I can't get to 100.

Definitely the hat.  I put one on as soon as I realised.  Mind you, you seem to be doing ok SF, even though you're hatless.  Obviously it's a complex algorithm.

For me, it's the magical puppy that does it. Has nothing to do with me. It's all puppy.

It's always the hat. If you can't look like Matt Cutts (And let's face it, not everyone can or wants to), then a hat is the sure fire way to get ahead at HP; mind, I say that and my profile score has been dropping rapidly - Maybe it's time to *lose* the hat?

I've gone down to 95 and am stuck there. I stopped worrying about HubScore a long time ago. It's as fickle as a dial-up connection. tongue

lol!  that might damage the space-time continuum, I think, it might just be too much.  HP would definitely go down for maintenance.

I would gladly take more hub views and a higher CPM in preference to an extremely high profile score.  Whenever I share a lot of hubs, follow and share hubs of new hubbers, comment on hubs, and answer questions my hub score goes up.  Whenever I am inactive, my hub profile score drops.

Some times I think it is random.  But mine always goes up after spending time hub hopping.
