There have been many times I would have liked to have had a place to post a comment to a writer's page, but couldn't find an appropriate place.

Sometimes you like a quote or thought they've posted in their bio, or maybe you have a comment on the majority of their hubs, but not a specific one, but maybe you don't want to follow them which keeps you from using the fan mail feature. And an e mail may seem too personal/relational for just a simple comment.

Just thought I would throw out, for your consideration, a new place for posting comments to the other authors.

    Thanks!

You can send fanmail to authors who you do not follow.
The URL is in the following format
      http://profilename.hubpages.com/#email

I think she was talking about a profile comments feature. In order to post fanmail one has to follow the hubber. How about a note to the author's profile without the "following"?

You can send fanmail without following an author.
I just tested to double check.

Are you messing with me? When I click on that link it says that author doesn't exist.

I listed the format for the fanmail link as I didn't want to have an author get SPAMed.  Replace profilename with the specific author's profile name.
You can also get to it on a profile by clicking "FanMail" and then "send profilename an email".

I have tried before and it didn't give the option without following, but maybe ppl can disallow fanmail? Maybe that was the case? Or maybe I just fudged it up... who knows. But ok, that's great. Thanks!

Yes, individual authors can disable fanmail.

I think that your differences hub throws down racial barriers between cats and dogs. But I have a tabby that is a bit offended. What say you?

      Who is you?
If we started a "Which is superior: dogs or cats" thread... it would be twice as volatile as the creation/evolution forum.

Why would it be volatile, it is obvious that dogs are superior!!

Cause you threatened to fire her if she didn't comply with your preferences.

                The cat stole her food...

and who would want a cat? They are unfaithful!! Our neighbour's cat's are always at our home begging for food or stealing from the maid!

I can't start dissing cats. I just wrote a hub on how it takes all kinds. It would negate my hub completely.

I once saw a  cat smoking a pipe and plotting world domination. I sneaked back out of the room lest it sent its henchcats after me. I fear for my safety...

Such a serendipitous post!  I had just read your hub: "A Letter to My Daughter's Birth Mother." and wanted to let you know that I found it to be so heartfelt and touching.  I can't imagine what an adventure it must have been, and how fulfilling it must be for your family, to have traveled to China and adopted a child in need like that!

Aw, thanks. As I try to tell everyone... it was not like adopting a child in need... it was like adopting a queen. lol She runs the household with her amazing little ways. She has every man twisted around her finger and she doesn't even know it... she is beautiful and amazing and sweet and rotten and special and we adore her. Thanks for reading it. smile
