If you go to http://hubpages.com/my/fanmail you can deny the fans you no longer want. I'm not sure what actually happens when you do this but I suspect they no longer get notified of your new hubs or activity.
I don't think you can. They are like the paparazzi and only go away when they decide to leave.
You can deny comments from followers.
On the other hand, if you are being annoyed and harassed by someone-- take the matter to [ team @ hubpages . com ] and explain your problem.
If your going to write about love & relationships you will get unwanted followers but they are not allowed to annoy you at least too much !
Yeah I have a few of them, not exactly sure what they want?
If you find out how to get rid of them do let me know.
Even then, you can only delete the fanmail, not the follower. Sorry.
Maybe someone can put this forward as a facility that hubpages can adds as a tool.
Personally I take all that want to folllow me Axe Murderer's you name it
Barry, my objection is the kinds of followers that use scripts to become the follower of virtually anybody on this site. It has nothing to do with what "following" is supposed to be about, in my opinion, and it ought to be prevented.
Thanks PCunix, this is definitely spreading. These types, new accounts, are literally following one new hubber per second, day in and day out. I cannot believe HubPages hasn't implemented a way to prevent it.
I think Hubpages is sort of 'on it' about this problem. I notice one follower like that of mine (I have two) has been banned. When I press on her name, her profile page has a message from Hubpages that she has been banned. But she's still on my list of fans, so I don't know if that has any effect on my scores. (She's a 20, I think.)
I take what you say as an issue I havent had an issue with it for three years here on Hubpages. the more women stalkers I get the better as far as i am concerned but i get your point although i am not usre what adverse effect it has on you ?
maybe i am too thick skinned Maybe ?
No, they are not directly bothering me, but they aren't adding any value to HP.
maybe they do add value omly hubpages would know that ?
It doesn't bother me personally. It bothers me that these spammers are permitted to abuse the "follower" system, using scripts to spread their spam. It is my impression that spam is spreading on HubPages at the moment, and unless you want a spammy site, something ought to be done.
OH I think you will find Spammers band i thought you were talking about real unwanted followers !
I have seen multiple accounts recently with no hubs just like korean girls photo as the avatar, they keep following me!
Ditto on that one Richie. They follow most of us...I let them follow me but I don't follow anyone who hasn't got a hub under their pen.
well,i dont mind the asian chics...lol, what i mind is a ex that decided to follow me, and i asked him numerous times to stop and everyday i have to see his face!!!! hes not harrassing me ,its just annoying, thankyou for all the help, i guess i have to deal with it......
I think almost all of us have followers who've never read a word of our hubs but follow in the hope of being followed back (or some such strange reason!). No one can delete them, though we can disapprove fan mail by them. Unless someone is harassing you, I really don't mind being followed by whoever wishes to. It's their choice; mine is to follow them back in return or not.
And btw. I do believe that fanning 'sprees' negatively impact hubber score, so it's doesn't go completely unchecked either...
Just as we speak Ive had about my 4th korean avatar - no hub - profile follow me..they use screen names like lsjb6 or wbns1
I saw this earlier, one person has 60 followers and she has only been signed up less than 24 hours...
I have been here 6 months and have only just scraped past the halfway mark.
I have no idea why they would want to grab so many followers who would never even look at their hubs probably, unless it is for other nefarious schemes.

I even did a browser search for "follow" on my activities page. Only the my following whoever showed. All the entries indicating when someone followed me are gone. HP works in nefarious ways...

Wouldn't it be great if we could de-fan a follower? If your asking, "why in the world would you want to do that?" Let me tell you. Recently I have been gaining quite a few followers which actually helped push my numbers over 200. That is great. However, most of these people have not only...

If i visit to any profile on hubpages, how to say there are following me or not at the outset? ( without visiting the my account)

Lately I'm getting a few followers with no Hubs, no profile info and weird fanmail or email. Is there a way to block these people from following me? Or is Hubpages at least working on something in the privacy settings?I'd rather be able to do something about it than wait for Hubpages to kick them...

Hello! I became a Follower of a poster, but did not take the option of leaving a Fan Mail at that time. Now, a little later, I want to send a fan mail that can be posted, but the only option under the Fan Mail section of the poster's account is to send an email, which I know is not the...

Is there a way to delete fanmail?Someone left public fanmail for me with their email address and so I denied it on my pc. I guess when it came up on the app on my phone when I tried to clear it it somehow was approved. Not really sure, I just need to delete the message for the person's...
