I have tried sending email a few times recently and noticed that the box with the 'code' to enter is gone. So I type my message and press enter but it just sits there and says'working'. My latest one said that I punched the wrong code into the "CAPTCHA" box - only there was not box for me to correct! Did anyone else run into this?

Did you give up? Or did you find a way around it? I have not been able to send any in about the last week. I do not know how long this has been going on.

Could you elaborate a little? For instance, what page were you on? Have you tried to send the email using a variety of browsers? If you could also post a screenshot of the error message(s) that would help us troubleshoot. Thanks!

BTW,  initially I assumed you were referring to sending an email via the profile page (under Fan Mail) so I attempted to send one and it worked fine for me.

Yes, Marina, I went to 'Fan Mail' and then 'email' and I just tried again to get a copy of the error message and here it is:

Please fix these errors before continuing:
The two words you typed in the reCAPTCHA box were incorrect. Please try again.

The only problem is that there is no box to fix it in. It was not there before, or after, I wrote the message.

I agree with The Examiner-1, I have experienced the same thing in Fan Mail. It says reCAPTHA box has the wrong words or something but I need to fix it before moving on and my mail does not send so, I don't know what the problem is.

At least we know that this problem in Fan Mail must be a hub pages glitch to fix. Does hub pages know about this problem?

Yes, they tried it and it worked from their side. They asked me more about it and I told them what I do and copied the message that I get - because it still did not work. (It is about 3-4 posts behind this.)

I just tried it again and this is what I got:
The two words you typed in the reCAPTCHA box were incorrect. Please try again.

I can't send one either and I tried from three browsers.  A message comes up which says:
"Please fix these errors before continuing:
The two words you typed in the reCAPTCHA box were incorrect.  Please try again."

But, there is no CAPTCHA box.  And a little grey box comes up at the top which says 'working' and a little wheel spins around until you close the browser.

Thanks to everyone who provided additional information. I just wanted to let you know we are working on it and I or Matt M will provide an update on the fix as soon as we have it!

Thanks for the feedback.  By the way, I tried it as a logged-in user and as a guest and neither way worked.

Thank you Marina, it is appreciated. Sorry for the upset but I had to mention it after several tries to find out whether it was only me.

Is this going to be fixed sometime soon, or should we look for other ways to contact someone?  The message is still asking for a CAPTCHA, but there isn't one.  Now the grey box that said 'working' and the spinning wheel are gone.

I do not know. I guess the only other thing that we can do is in the comments. I just received Fan Mail from someone so I guess that it works for some - or maybe only at certain times.
How about if we try it at different times through the day?

WF, I will check on the ETA and get back to you all.  As far as I know, the only other way to contact another Hubber is via Fan Mail. Or, as The Examiner-1 suggested, by commenting on Hubs.

Thank you.  I'll wait a little while longer to see if it can be fixed soon.

Hi all - this should be fixed now. Please let me know if anyone is still experiencing problems with the captcha. Thanks for your patience!

Thank you!  I just sent an email and the CAPTCHA was there and it looks like it was sent.

All seems good Marina thank you. The CAPTCHA box was back as before and I just sent a reply to someone, it seems to have gone through okay. :-)
