Should hubbers be clicking ads on hubs they are following and expect the same from other hubber that follow them?
Clicking on ads as you suggest is against the HubPages Terms of Service, so do not do it.
From our FAQ:
"Don't ever have friends or family members click on your ads and don't ever click on your own ads or those of people you know. This will quickly get you banned from Google's AdSense and it's very difficult to be reinstated."
It's very easy to inadvertently tap on an ad on a mobile device when scrolling, especially if the ad stretches down the area of the screen and a scroll attempt ends up as a tap.
Is there any way in code, when logged in, tapping on our own ads could be disabled?
I completely agree....does adsence do this intentionally....
Google adsense is pushing hubbers to click on their own ads... Adsense cannot make such rules....Why should they get the bigger bite and not share it down equally....I propose a total review of the ad policies
Do you have any sort of documentation for that statement that "Google adsense is pushing hubbers to click on their own ads"?
We don't really need documentation...and for the racord its not just adsense...ad firms in general earn tones of money everyday for the hard work publishers do everyday...all am saying is that they review their payment methods to be more reasonable....ptc is not anywhere close to a solution...And for the record...am not encouraging hubbers to become lazy for earning more from their work...its simply what all publishers deserve after a lot of work...
When you make statements like "Google adsense is pushing hubbers to click on their own ads" you do need some sort of documentation. If I said "The hubber jobsmart supports payments from google of half what is currently paid" I would need some sort of documentation. If I could not provide it, the statement would not be based in fact.
Facts dont need proof.... Proof that all publishers experience....you really dont need any more evidence if you experience the same .... the reality that you dont get an equal pay for your hard work....I strongly believe that google is against slavery....not that am saying we are slaves....but they make billions of dollars from our hard work....dont we deserve atleast a fair if not equal pay?
Fact of Life: when you create the industry you get to make the rules.
If you want to play by the rules you get rewarded
If you don't comply with the rules
* (voluntary) you need to find somewhere else to write
* (mandatory) you will be kicked off the pitch
You can disagree all you like - it doesn't change the rules.
The industry depends on the publishers for the billions they make.....no publishers no ads...no money... ad firms should have a regulatory watchdog that ensures equal distribution downwards....
At least we can talk about the rules....its better than just keeping quiet and being taken advantage of...
I'm not sure what you mean by being taken advantage of. Advertisers will only pay so much when there's millions if not billions of articles published.
I'm glad the Hub pages Ad program exists otherwise very few would be making much on here. Even with the program, the majority of writers don't make monthly payout because the competition is so intense nowadays.
You don't like the fact that writers earn peanuts from advertising - go get another job.
I used to write on HubPages a lot - when the earnings rates were higher. I only write here for fun now, and the earnings are a bonus. If you want to earn a good income from your writing, do your research and go where you can earn a better income.
You risk losing your Adsense Account if you click on your own Ads. Definitely not worth it.
Please tell us you haven't been doing that. HubPages itself may get penalised, and you are likely to lose your Adsense account.
It is not my intention...if I was ever Miscouted....that I would want to earn illegally from google adsense or any other ad program out there....all am saying is that ad programs should start to consider paying publishers seriously and make publishing a serious job....they earn billions and pay us peanuts.....
Absolutely and totally and never: NO.
NEVER do that. You'll get your account banned, your Adsense banned - and the person you clicked on will have any income reversed.
It is against the Google AdSense & Hubpages policy.
If you are a new to AdSense then kindly read following policies:

I hope it works for you
Have a beautiful day.
Screw Google. I've been here five years and I gave up watching my AdSense earnings a looooong time ago. Glaciers move faster than they do.
Since I joined the HubPages Ads Program in early '14 I've managed to squeak some pizza & beer money out of my writing here several times a year. Meanwhile, over at Google... *crickets*
If I ever reach AdSense's fabled $100 payout threshold and actually get a payment, I'll take it as a gift from a gracious nowhere.
If you're running HP ads it's not surprising that adsense isn't paying much. Although I make the HPs payout each month, I don't get one from adsense even once a year.
I was on straight AdSense and nothin' but AdSense for the first two years I was here ... and I was still getting nowhere.
If HP hadn't started up their own Ad Program I would've given up on this site ages ago!
Am I correct in thinking that I can't run the HP ad programme until I have Adsense though? Rochelle your words spur this newbie on, especially as Im working hardvon my hubs at the moment. I don't yet know if I am good enough but enjoy focusing on my writing. I suppose only time will tell.
Yup. Think of Adsense as your ticket into the game. You can't have one without the other.
Somehow I doubt HubPages is making "billions." Haha.
Write lots of well written, popular articles. You'll need to write 10 featured hubs and then apply for an Adsense account so that you can join the HubPages earnings program. The more you write and the more external visitors your hubs attract, the more you can earn.
Study here: http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/contents
Just make sure you sacrifice alot....since adsense pays peanuts
....which is why you switch on the HP Earnings Program instead. It pays a lot better.
If you know that, why are you moaning about Adsense?
If you've go the Earnings Program switched on, you will earn little or nothing from Adsense. That's not because their rates of pay are low - it's because with the Earnings program, each Hub will show only ONE Adsense ad, and it's right at the bottom of the Hub where practically no one will ever see it.

Well, that’s nice, very nice. I haven’t got a clue of what I did wrong. And after filling in the online appeal form they told me they had reviewed my account information, taken my feedback into account, but still had concluded that my AdSense account has posed a significant risk. And I have no idea...

Something just occured to me, not only are we writers here but we are ALSO CONSUMERS. I see nothing wrong with clicking on a fellow hubbers google ad if it's something we are interested in. I am getting the feeling that some people are afraid to do this for fear of reprisal for being click happy...

For Google AdSense, are we allowed to click on ads on other Hubbers pages?
