Good afternoon everyone! Thanks all for the congrats on the elite. Finally feeling like I'm on summer vacation here. Went to the beach yesterday and took the kids to see a "family funny guy" followed by water fun: creek wading, water slides, and sprays from the fire truck.

Im back and tired as crap Marky is beat from moving and not even done yet. Have all my dads tools and my stuff in the garage to clean out.

I'm never moving again. I miss all of you lovely girls and the few guys that show up now and then.

@ Denise How is the job situation going. i am always thinking of you and wondering how you are doing with it.

  Mark, my in-laws got me one of those high tech phones that I don't even know how to keep turned on! LOL
  The darned thing has everything... GPS, internet, videos, voice recorder (very useful for my memory lapses!) and it has a separate keyboard where you can type with the very tip of your fingers. I tried to attach the picture I had taken while writing my post from South Beach, but it wouldn't let me because the file was too big. But here it is! A full preview of my toes!!!

  They'll be here until the end of July. Their first 4th of July here too. I took them to Coconut Grove to see the fireworks. They're loving it, although they can't seem to adapt to our meal times. They've trained me to eat lunch at 3pm. I've gained at least 5 pounds already! I don't even want to think about it! ALL THAT BREAD!

  Good Morning Klara All my furningture is in and all I have to do is unload the garage which has so much stuff in it. and my basement. workshop and some stuff that will never fit in my new house.
  
  All is good though and just can't wait to this short sale is over and go to settlement. If you ever get in a bind finacially with a home when you owe more than the house is worth don't do the short sale stuff it takes many months to get approved

  Good evening to you Sophie. how was your day. I am getting ready to put the second coat of stain on my two decks before it rains again. I am not happy unless I am working doing something. I can't just sit around that is for sure.
  
  The deck was stained red and now I am making it a light tan, so much better and bigger looking too.

  Thanks Mark. I'm starting a marketing/writing business. I did get them to sign on for 6 months and since I know them well, I can 'practice' on them and hone my skills. I've already realized I need to adjust my pricing on the next client!

  So nice to see you again Klara. All is well here except for the rainand thunder. Our dog goes crazy with thunder.
  
  Ikea is a neat place. My son used to work in the warehouse unloading those trucks full of furningture. He said they would pack those boxes to the ceiling of the truck and very heavy too.
  
  Rain has slowed down and Linda can now take Mason out for his walk and pooo

  Oh thank you then I should not worry I love all people though so it will be ok. Just had to clean out gutters. With all the rain we had I saw waterfalls past my sliding door and knew the gutters were plugged up. all fixed and ready for the next rain
  
  It is beautiful here today Klara with much sun and heat.
  I can get used to being off everyday here which now I am thinking should I stay at my job 60 miles away and 20 years or look for something here with less drive and of course l;ess money.
  
  This is why I moved here to live simple so I better get my thiinking cap on. Tuesday I return to work and I will see how I feel when I see the big boss, you know the one that keeps saying (life sucks and then you die) How would you feel Klara hearing that everyday of your life? I said to her why don't you just kill yourself and get it over with ! She would blow the wind out of anyones sails

  Oh, man! That stinks, Mark. I'm sorry to hear that. I have a coworker that is very much like that, and she's close to me, although I don't let her get too close because of that pessimistic attitude. There is nothing you can do about that. Some people are addicted to bitching. I try to stay away from people like that. If you are unhappy there, Mark, you lose nothing by checking out other jobs. Sometimes one needs a new canvas to start drawing. That's how people remember their lives, by the different "start overs"
  I am sure you'll find another job easy. It's your personality, my dear. You are likeable and positive. Think about it.

  Thank you so much Klara for your kind words to me. One of the main reasons I moved to the Jersey Shore is first I grew up here as a child with my parents and sister and have some of the most wonderful memories. My sister still has the house that my parents bought back in the 70's right on the bay with dock. When my parents passed away I decided to let my sister have the bay house and I took the house that is now sold. Reason being she is a scholl teacher and has the summers of so that she can enjoy the bay house more than I would with only 3 weeks a year off.
  
  Since i stopped drinking everything has been going just as planed and Have changed my life around so much. I really am burned out with the job I have so I will start looking down here, take the 401 and take it easy for once in my life
  call me a beach Bumb I guess.

It will be another beautiful day tomorrow with much SUN and fun here at the Jersey Shore. daughter coming back down tomorreow with her girlfriend to hit the beach. marky will be pulling 2 bushes out that have 100's of black flies in them and it is driving me nuts. I never seen anything like it. My neighbor said that type of bush attracts flies, so I will do an extraction on them Ii will replace them with something that looks more seashory.

  Try planting sea grape! I have one in my backyard and you can keep it trimmed as a bush or let it grow into a large tree. It gives you green grapes that are edible. Birds love it too.

  We have been getting the storms too. They come up, stay for about an hour, then they are gone. Keeps us from having to water the plants so much. Our dogs are the same as yours. They whine until we pick them up.

  Don't get me wrong. It's not that I dislike hard rock. I've always played in hard rock bands (some of them a lot heavier than Nightwish) but the older I get the more I appreciate the acoustic sound. There are a lot of lesser known bands out there. Sometimes I wish I had money to start a radio station in Miami, and bring everyone here up to date with what's happening in the US and worldwide musicwise. Seriously, Mark. These people are stuck in the 80's and 90's and they are not supporting all the new bands that have amazing talent, not because they don't want to, but because the music never gets to the listeners. It's a shame!

  You would make a great DJ on your own station Klara. You have the talent and the knowledge. I find these bands when I search for bands I never heard of on Siruis Radio , I go to youtube and listen and other bands show up and I listen to those and so on, I know you are right these bands are unknown to the outside world and it a shame because they are great in my opinion.
  
  I don't know whats happening to me, the older I get the younger I feel. I don't get it but I love it. Age is only a number anyway right Klara?

  It was a hot and sticky mid 90 day today in Michigan. A little hot for Alex's outdoor birthday party but we survived! Exhausted now and ready for bed, unfortunately the kids aren't!

  Picture is too small for me to see it, but elephant ear (I think) doesn't grow as tall as a tree. It's more like a decorative plant, no? I'm not sure on his. I'll have to check it out.
  
  Get yourself some FLorida plants and you'll feel as if you were here. Some palmettos and seagrape trees!

  I like Oleanders. They have beautiful flowers. The only thing is the you'd probably have to take them inside in the winter where you are. I know that I have to bring mine in to protect them from the cold.

  Cara, there is no such thing as cold in South Florida. We grow tropical plants here all year long. We might have a couple of days of winter and that's usually in the 50's which is not that bad. Talk to you later! Have a great day!

  I know! I meant that if Mark wanted to use some of those "tropical" plants for his yard. Sorry I wasn't clear. When we were in FL last year, my mother in law walked around taking shoots off of people's Oleander plants to bring home and plant. They really are beautiful plants.

  No, I was awake, Mark! I could have been there! But I have the worst memory in the world! I'm so forgetful! As I write this, I'm very upset with myself. I came back from the gym and left my car windows down, all 4 of them, because I wanted to keep the car cool knowing that I'd head out within the next hour or so. One thing led to another and I got busy doing a million other things at home and it started to pour outside. The car is completely soaked, EVERYTHING inside is wet! So I'm out there like a madwoman getting soaked turning on the car to close the windows. I just ordered pizza because the plan was to go to the supermarket to buy some groceries so we could cook. It didn't work out. I'm a little stressed out right now.

  Awe Klara I feel so bad for you. I am soaked too put from sweating laying out another section in the cemetery. Do you have a wet vac and if so when it stopps raining suck up the water out of the seats and let air dry or it may start to stink , the cloth os the seats and rugs. If I lived closer I would come over and help you Klara. Don'y be upset with yourself. We all do it one time or another, so don't be hard on yourself. It will ruin the rest of your day and night. So, as hard as it may be just laugh it off Klara. That is what I do alll the time now I try not to get stressed out over anything anymore and you should do the same Okay ???

  Heyya Mark! It's not so bad. The car is still wet inside and it has been raining on and off, all day, so I haven't had a chance to roll down the windows. I'll take it to a carwash tomorrow so they can vaccum the seats. I ordered a pizza and took a nap before heading out to teach a piano lesson. I feel so much better now.
  I'm trying to be a good hostess but I feel like I am not accomplishing it sometimes. My in-laws have been here for two weeks and they are the most wonderful people ever, but of course, they depend on me for many things since this is not their house and they don't know the city. Europe is a different ballgame all together... a lot easier access to places, while here they get bored in the house and I try to take them out everyday, but I'm not used to this coming and going. I'm a bit drained, I must confess, but they are so wonderful and such a huge help in the house that I pull it together and do what I have to do to make sure they have a good time while they're here. This is their second time in the US and it took them six years to come, so it is very special. I'm happy to have them here, I'm just trying to stay on top of my game too. It's hard sometimes.

  Klara I am sure you are doing a wonderful job entertaining and taking your in-laws in town etc. I know it must be draining but they will never forget your kindness Klara. They will remember it for a lifetime. I love where I live now because the folks are a bit older than I and lindas and they are so cute and so nice. Not like the young people, being snotty, short and everything the young are. There are a few younger husbands and wifes here ( in my age range) but I could talk to the elderly all day. They have been through it all and it is very interesting listening to their life's stories.
  
  You a good girl and great daughter in- law Klata and I am sure they love you dearly and your husband I'm sure appreciates everything your are doing.

Talking about older people... yesterday as I was driving out of the gym's parking lot, I saw an old woman (in her 80's) and she was trying to cross a very busy, wide street, with a shopping cart. She had four or five heavy bags of groceries and was going to cross the street to take the bus to go home. The cart had one of those security stoppers that stops the wheel from going further and she was stuck trying to push it. I felt bad and kept an eye opened for any crooks that would try to steal my wallet... you know, you hear these stories all the time, how they use kids and old people as bait. Anyways, I ended up taking her home. She lived nearby in a gvt senior building. The whole entire time I'm driving her I'm telling her: "You have to be careful! You can't be going out by yourself! You can't allow people to give you a ride back to your apartment! There are a lot of bad people out there!" The world we live in! I can't even lend a helping hand to someone in need without thinking that I could get in a lot of trouble, and that my actions could give her the impression that what I'm doing is acceptable. So I dropped her home, took the bags to the elevator and said good bye. As I was leaving there was an old man outside, smoking his cigarette. He said to me "Look at me. I'm 84 years old. We're all old people in this place and most of us don't have any family that come to visit. You are still young, but someday you could end up here."
It broke my heart, Mark. It really did. I have a very soft spot for the elderly, and I get teary eye easily just thinking about it. How unfair life is sometimes, that we give it all in our youth and end up depleted, and left to rot. It's so sad.

  Oh crap Klara, you brought a tear to my eye. You are so right and what you did was so thoughtful and kind. I know nowadays everyone has to watch their backs as you said they may be baiting us. But I can tell ( i believe who is good and bad)
  
  There has been times even with younger people that you acan tell they have nothing in life and I would go to them and other some loose change or sometime even in bills. What the heck it is only money and if makes someone just a little bit happier that is great for me.
  
  I am excited too be able to be around the older folks and just maybe I will learn a little from them.
  
  Plus when I (we) do a good deed for someone it makes us feel great knowing we have helped someone right. That feeling is better than all the money in the world to me.

Mark, the personal trainer didn't even get to it because my knee is so messed up. He wants me to walk for an hour in the morning and another hour at night, see how I feel, and go from there. I'm trying to get pregnant so I can't have that knee surgery right now. Walking, it is!

  Yes Klara they claim that walking is the best, more so than running and tread mills. Linda uses the treadmill but not always. She has more success waling about 3 miles per day.
  Now she walks Mason everynight and it is bettwer on your knees to.

  Mark, one can only walk outside from October to June. Summer is too hot and it rains when least expected, which is why I signed up again. We just came back from Miami's Design District where my husband works. We went to have lunch with him and walked the area, visiting stores, and bars. My father in law loves beer. Very European! I just had a sprite!

  Linda loves design and redoing homes and it decor. She has a nack for that and colors to. I just do the bull work and she designs
  As far as the drink you don't needthat crap. Drink water and sprite it is MUCH better for you anyway. I lost 41 lbs just by quitting drinking beer Now I am ready for the beach

  My husband is an interior designer. He uses various computer programs to design kitchens and baths. It's not as much fun as decorating, but I can do that part myself. Now, knowing which wall to bring down, and how to replan the electrical wiring and plumbing, and all of that... I can't do that. He can though.
  
  Yes, I have one from time to time, Mark, but it's not my thing. I love drinking water and tea. Coffee every morning, and sometimes in the afternoon if I'm a little bit lazy.
  
  You've got it together, my friend. You can't even get a taste of it. It will bring you down. You're better than that, and I'm certain that you'll continue your fight. It's a neverending war, but you're smart enough to do what's right.

Good Friday morning everyone. I've been off the computer the past several days/nights...or at least off of Sandpit. Trouble with my nephew...but, hopefully that will straighten out soon.

Beth- The interview went well, one week ago, and I was offered a position which I took-midnight shift. BUT, I have not about a start date. H.R. is waiting for the interviewee to contact her with the paperwork - an interview analyst. Then, hopefully, a call. In the meantime, I remain in 'active' status from my dept, thank goodness. This means the pension is still 'alive'.
It is so hard to be patient and not worry that something will thwart it all.

Cara will be heading out for her family roadtrip Saturday morning to 'Sesame Street' Wish I could meet them up there.

Where's Danette, Steven, Sofs, and Shuvo been hiding? We seem to be missing some other folks here as well...

Klara-I hope your knee heals soon. No fun! Esp. in the summer time. How long will your in-laws be visiting? I read that your husband is an interior decorator-so there are TWO creative people in your household. That must have been one of the characteristics that attracted you to each other?

Hey Marky-enjoy your w/e. I know you have to work on Sat. but, then your dream house!

  Thanks Mark. We definitely will! I knew we were going to be on your side of the US but I wasn't sure how close. We have a fun filled tour with Sesame, Crayola Factory and Hershey on the way back. We will take our time and be safe. We are very relieved that the weather will be warm (hot). We'd rather that then get rained out!

@ Denise -- Congratulations!!! This is wonderful!! You deserve a break after all that you have been going through.

@ Mark -- yup... it's a V12 and I'm sure it's going to eat me out of pocket money with gas. I probably shouldn't have bought it, but I've always wanted one. Now, i have to go and find an old clunker to drive in the winter!! ha ha ha I miss you too. Been putting in extra hours at the hospital only to find out that there's been an error in paying me. Now, all the red tape begins.... But, two more weeks and then off for 2.5 weeks of holiday!! YIPPEE!!!!

@ Klara -- hey girl!!! How goes everything with you? I'm soo far begin in all the news around here, you're gonna have to give me a quick summary.

@ Sofs -- How's it going? We finally have some hot HOT weather here!! Sunny today with the thermometer hitting 34C already!! And, it's still going up!!! Thought I'd treat myself to a juicy steak on the barbque today. Spending the day at my rented room to take a break from the stresses of life. I'm hanging on. xo

  Yes get a junker for the winter for sure. My dad had the XKE V12 in yellow and automatic. I think it was a 1972. What year is your new ride Beth?
