What are some of the best free keyword research tools that you would suggest?
One of the best I've found so far is a product called Micro Niche Finder it uses Google Keyword search and also allows you to check domain availability and competition from one screen - save your searches, etc. Very easy yet powerful.
Google Adword Keyword Tool
Google Adword Traffic Esitmator
You could google it.
I didn't think Micro Niches Finder was free but maybe it is. Might have to check it out again.
I would suggest Semrush...it is free for 10 queries a day..I have bought the full version because the other tools i used (and payed a truckload for them)didn't seem to be so accurate and easy to find trends, competition and relative keywords.
Google AdWord Keyword tool is very useful. Wordtracker offers a free limited keyword tool as well and it is also very good.
Try using the Google Wonderwheel to get some ideas, too. You can check out how to access it by looking at my hub:
