Anybody have any experience with unpublishing a poorly performing hub?  Did you see an improvement in your author score?  At what Hubscore would you consider unpublishing?

I've unpublished many and so an improvement in my self-esteem. Is it a coincidence?

I've never unpublished a hub for poor performance.  Even those that don't get much traffic sometimes get a click--often a higher-paying click than on hubs with a high click-through.

Kidgas, what definition of "poorly performing hub" are you using in this context?  Are you just playing a number game?  You might get better replies if you codified the guidelines you're using so we can understand how you see poor performance.

If a Hub isn't doing what you initially envisioned, it means you get to keep changing it around, or try something different.

I think that Hubs which incur the no-follow penalty are worthy of being unpublished, but I doubt that the site users really cranking out material which is that poor in quality are even aware of such things.

I don't know, some of my earlier hubs were pretty stinky, just not enough to them and I keep meaning to unpublish them. Maybe it would be a good idea to unpublish a stinky hub and jazz it up a bit.

A couple of my early hubs (1st 4 days) have only 10-13 views in the past 7 weeks out of my total of 1200.  They also have scores of 57, 60, and 60 respectively.  That is what I was looking at.  Now, I suppose I could work on jazzing them up or trying to advertise more and backlink.  Just wondering what anybody else did in this situation.  Thanks.

Well, if you look at the metrics for those Hubs, they give you simple but really effective suggestions for what might be improved.

I'm not looking to unpublish any of my Hubs no matter how low the score.  Not only does every one get a view now and again--even when the score has been in the 40's "forever"--but I've had folks Comment on help they personally received on some of those.  As in, ya never know.  'Tain't always about the bucks.

BUT, Relache, I don't have a CLUE what "metrics" for a Hub might be that give suggestions for improvement.  Couldya point this ol' cowboy down the right trail?

It's amazing how useful the FAQ/help page is, and how no one seems to read it.

I want to thank everyone for their contributions thus far.  I have looked at the metrics on several of my hubs.  Many have 5 $'s for earnings potential, but I don't have a lot of incoming links yet.  I have made a few posts and relevant comments on a few sites with a link.  I will continue to work and do my part.  It's OK, I am patient.

Bizarrely one of my best performing hubs (financially speaking) is one which has one of the lowest scores and also has one of the lowest amount of traffic.

Ah, but see, this is the reality of the internet.  Connecting with the audience that needs the info and products you are offering is really the game and that's how it's played best.
