    When I was a kid my girlfriend's mother had taped a quote up in her kitchen, and it just really impressed me at the time.  For some reason, I tend not to be able to remember quotes; and I'm not sure this is really my "favorite", but it's the only one that impressed me enough to remember it:

    "Small minds talk about people.  Average minds talk about things.  Great minds talk about ideas."  Eleanor Roosevelt

    (Maybe because, as a ten-year-old girl, I was surrounded by lots of other girls who were always talking about people, this quote had impact on me.)

      I saw a similar one once that ended in "Live in the moment and let it take your breath away"

    One I need to keep reminding myself..it's more like a poem though but here it is:
    Don't quit when
    the tide is lowest,
    For it's just about
    to turn.
    Don't quit over doubts
    and questions,
    For there's something
    you may learn.

    Don't quit when
    the night is darkest,
    For it's just a while
    'til dawn;
    Don't quit when you've
    run the farthest
    For the race is almost won.

    Don't quit when
    the hill is steepest,
    For your goal is
    almost nigh;
    Don't quit, for you're
    not a failure
    Until you fail to try.

    by Jill Wolf

    I have this poem on a bookmark and need to use it more often when I am getting down about my writing. Love this poem!

      oOo, good one.

      What if you slept? And what if, in your sleep, you dreamed?
      And what if, in your dream, you went to heaven
      and there plucked a strange and beautiful flower?
      And what if, when you awoke, you had the flower in your hand?
      Ah, what then?
