    What affects my hubscore?

it clearly isn't the average of our articles because mine average a 70 yet my hubscore is 77, the thing that has seemed to help the most is "hubtivity" and time

It is more like an average of all you do on hubpages ie forum writing and commenting, hub reading and commenting, answering quesitons, etc.
But don't try to up your score by following a lot of people.
Read a hub I wrote called How New Hubbers Ruin  Their Hubscore

You won't know.  You won't ever know.  Nobody knows except the HP staff members, and they are NOT going to tell you.

The only solid and true thing to be said here is that the most original hubs score highest.  I had one hub- and I'll show you the link, that was once a score of 100. . . .today, it's much lower.

There you are - that used to be a 100. . . .at the time of this answer it's an 87. . . .do I care, hell to tha no I don't care.  I want money.

One thing which i figured out is that if you reply to a question & that question receives high replies you will enjoy your hub score going up!!!

I think everything you do on Hub Pages effects your score. How much you comment, how many people you follow, how many Hubs you write, how many questions you ask and how many you answer.
