Yeah, I know it's not much, but I'm psyched! That's my best day so far. I had hit $5 a couple of times this month, but not $7 until today. Considering I've only been active with HP since September, I'm happy with the results. I'll meet payout soon!

Misha, are you saying a Hubber cannot shop and buy products from ads on their own hubs?

      1. Misha profile image64
Mishaposted 15 years agoin reply to this

Not from adsense ads for sure, you get your adsense account banned this way. Ebay and Amazon just don;t pay you commissions for your own purchases as far as I know. smile

Congratulations! I am new to hubbing, so it will be almost forever before I make a dollar. But I am very happy for you.

Thanks, guys! Yeah, Misha. I know not to do that! If I were doing that, believe me, it would be a heck of a lot more than $7! I guess why I'm so excited is the amount per click has gone up. I had only 8 clicks today. I've had more than that before in number, but not in revenue.

No, Deborah, that's a no-no! It's in the google adsense agreement. It's frustrating sometimes - I've seen google ads on my pages that I actually WANTED to check out! I wish there was a way for us to click them without receiving "credit" for doing so!

Congrats! I knew when I read your hub about fixing a car with pudding that you would go far! - Carol

Right click on the ad, do "Copy Link Location".

Paste it into a text document. Near the end of the string you'll find the target URL. Cut and paste that into your web browser address field.

    Nice congrats!

I had a record high views day (and the lowest day in a while in terms of revenue... sad  )

Just out of curiousity, is there an easy way to find out what your best DAY is other than catching it when it happens?  For instance, can I now browse my year's worth of history to see what my top day was?

    BTW...Congrats, Habee!

Provided you have hubpages.com as a URL channel you should be able to.

Thanks, Pro. I was wondering if others had a lot of traffic today.

Yea my traffic is WAAAY up, but I think it's because of my beer robot costume hub (80 views today alone).  It may just be a fluke hmm.

Pro, I figure some of my Halloween articles are pulling in a lot of traffic, too.

Makes sense.  So I guess the question is:

Should I keep writing seasonal topics that will attract a lot of traffic (along with my normal articles) but only around the time they target?  They may not be evergreen, but they'll certainly hold appeal for years to come (especially if they already hold a high google ranking).

Ah...I forgot about the advanced reports.  Thanks Misha.  Evidently Sept 17th was my biggest earnings day.  smile

  17. KCC Big Country profile image79
KCC Big Countryposted 15 years ago

That's something I've considered as well.  I have a hub that's kicking in about 800 views a day right now, but it will fizzle out in about another month.  It will have zero traffic until next September.

I think it comes down to a balance.  It's nice to have the seasonal hubs, but you really need the evergreen ones to see you through the other times.

  18. habee profile image93
    habeeposted 15 years ago

I'm thinking the same, Pro. I'm shooting for a good mix of evergreen articles and seasonal hubs. I'm sure if I were computer savvy, I could earn more. I don't even have any backlinks.

    BTW, thanks, Andrew!

Yea, you have a ton of hubs habee.  Don't do backlinks much?

Pro, I'm a computer dummy! I have NO back links!

    1. Pr0metheus profile image60
Pr0metheusposted 15 years agoin reply to this

It's easy.  Just go to like shetoldme.com and digg.com and add your site.  Free backlinks (to start), I guess the personal backlinks come later.  I've only got a couple of those!  You can also post them in forums.

Just remember on shetoldme that you need to get rated.  I've been queued with 6 hubs for over a week.

digg isnt a true backlink as its nofollow

look up dofollow social bookmarking if thats the route you would like.

Congrats on the great earnings Habee!,

Wow, didn't know you couldn't check out an ad just because it was on your page. Where do you go when you're interested to find the same ad? I rarely check my adsense account, because I'm clueless on how to maximize traffic and the whole business end of the Hub deal.
