Why do you think I was not accepted in Hubpages Apprenticeship?
I submitted an application for Hubages Apprenticeship to further improve my writing skills. To my disappointment, I was not accepted. I wonder what could be the reason(s) why.
Probably because there were a lot more applications than spaces.
I never knew the training is offered to limited number of participants only. Thanks for the information.
You've only been here for 2 months and published 6 hubs. They are looking for people that can produce content on a regular basis and has been active here for awhile.
I don't think the length of your membership is a factor. A friend of mine who created an account in Hubpages at almost the same time as I did, got accepted on her first attempt for the training.
The waiting list is supposedly close to two years long already. It's going to be quite a while until just anyone can be accepted quickly.
Two years?! Whoa! I may have been an expert in Hubpages by then and learned the ropes my own way. LOL.
Actually, Jason said it's more like 2 months
Maybe there is nothing wrong with you at all. I guess the waiting list is already way too long, so just keep trying and don't give up if you think you are capable of doing the apprenticeship.
Hello,
I am an HubPages Apprentice and I checked out your hubs to detect what the problem might be. I'm only going to point out what you can improve and what I think it can prove to be an obstacle.
I notice that your hubs have a low variety of modules and most of them have long lines of text after text after text. These are some guidelines you should follow:
- Have at least 2 high quality images properly sourced;
- The articles are usually 500 - 1500 words: Less is poor, more is usually more confuse or boring
- You should add video or poll capsules
You should try to build some pillar hubs too. Pillar hubs are hubs that get you a good number of organic viewers. So write about something you are passionate about and that you know other people will be too. A hobby, a movie, something. But make sure you spend lots of time and effort on those pillar hubs.
I hope this helps and wish you the best success!
EDIT: Also, make sure you don't copy content or that your content is available elsewhere, as this is detected, and you are not adding value to the community

How does Hubpages choose which members get accepted into the apprenticeship program?
by Sherry Hewins 12 years ago
Did anybody hate the apprenticeship program? One third of the first class dropped out. I understand that it was mostly because of the rigors of the program and personal time constraints. However, I've seen nothing but praise so far. I'd like to hear from someone who didn't like the program. Maybe if...

This has got to be some sort of joke. This site is not an easy place to make a fast buck. I knew that when I started. I then did the apprenticeship. It hasn't done me one iota of good. I have written well over 70 hubs, some of which were HOTD. My earnings in the last week are [redacted] ...

Why wasn't I accepted into the Apprenticeship Program?I've noticed a lot of people talking about being accepted into the program and I'm just wondering why they passed me up? I have good quality hubs and I'm so eager to learn more. Tips, anyone? Has anyone else been rejected?

Is there anyone who makes a decent living from writing on HubPages?I don't want to know amounts or anything like that I just want to know if there are writers who make a living from writing on HubPages. When I say a decent living I mean they don't have to supplement it by working on other sites...
