Is anyone else experiencing an 'over-zealous' policing of their Hubs by TeamHubPages?

Hubpages has 'unpublished' a poem that is both informative and respectful - and written on an important issue - bulimia! I have first-hand knowledge of this disease - being involved in the world of gymnastics! Is anyone else experiencing 'over-zealous' policing of their hubs?

I have noticed a change over the past few months for sure. They are becoming more strict but i think it's only a good thing.

Keep the quality high on hub pages!

I read that poem and I didn't notice anything objectionable. The comments I read were all positive. Did they give you a reason?

They cited 'adult content', but i have written on topics such as sexual abuse, rape, pap smears etc - all 'adult content' - some using profanity as well! Not this one! Please voice your opinion to team@hubpages.com        Thanks

Yes!!!!!!!! I've even had Hubs flagged because they were written in bold and they wanted that changed?? What does that have to do with the subject matter within the Hub? I also believe some just like having the power to flag Hubs. Not trying to offend anyone, But I'm thinking this may be true? I know people will say it takes more than one person to flag, Not if they do it several times on the same Hub. I completely understand Hubpages has to be policed, But the font in which you write your hub?? Over zealous for sure.

In my opinion, flagging a hub for using all bold font is reasonable. I would consider that a service both to the author and to readers. By comparison, a site like Wikipedia does not permit such extensive use of bold either.

Wouldn't the bold font make it easier to read for those with impaired vision? Also why is it an option if HubPages frowns upon it??

@JThomp42: I can assure you there was nothing in this poem of a sexual or defamitory nature! Please voice your opinion at team@hubpages.com - Your hub could be next! Thanks so much!

Oh Karn, Believe me I've had several Hubs flagged over pure nonsense. It shouldn't be left up to one person to decide on such things. There should be at least 2 administrators deciding. We put too much hard work in a Hub to be flagged over nonsense.

Only one time did I have a Hub removed, but upon further investigation I found out it was due to a photo I used. I replaced the picture with another one and presto...my Hub was back up and running.

It is an important issue. Maybe it is the timing. Olympics and gymnastics currently on, maybe they don't want a focus on this subject. I have not noticed an increase in flagging hubs. Mine had to do with a broken link and pixeled image.

@Bridalletter: Yes, i also had one recently unpublished due to 'pixilated images'. Interestingly, the hub was 6 months old..

yes, one of my milestone hubs was flagged after being there for 8 months with many comments. I thought it was just me because I haven't done much hubbing lately.

I don't understand how that can happen. Seriously? Did you get a reason why?

@Homesteadabound: One of my hubs was unpublished too! After only SIX months tho...sigh..this is the third they've tried to censure.I do not want them to succeed this time - it's just not right!...

I'm curious...do people that flag an article wield that much power or is it an administrative decision?

Yes, Anyone can flag a Hub. And if they flag it a few times Hubpages will act.

ImKarn23 - mine is just a compilation of what it took to reach 150 hubs, who would have thought?
pagesvoice - I did not receive a reason, but if you want to look at the hub: http://homesteadbound.hubpages.com/hub/ … ong-to-150

There were only positive comments on the hub in question! Usually when someone flags you - there's a nasty comment to go with it, no?

They won't let it be published until you fix whatever problem they have with it.

I also would like to know how we find out if our Hubs have been flagged.

Hubpages will let you know if they find reason to remove your Hub until it is fixed of the problem they see.

Nothing yet... although, I did ask a question and put a link in it without thinking, so I'm sure it will be deleted. /headinhands
