Remember when they said there would be a computer in every house in 5 years. We couldn't believe it.
and then there came laptops, netbooks, blackberries...
Ralwus, when did you get younger
I wouldn't have recognized you.
Remember.....
Before cell phones there were Beepers, Pagers, two-ways
Typewritters or Word-Processors
Families actually ate dinner together
Playing tackle football in the snow
People were able to smoke in offices.....yuck!
I used to have a record player ......for my car. It played 45's unless you hit a bad bump!
Suspicious Minds was always on there!
Cars had no seat belts.
Company computers were giant things that stood on the floor in a room that was kept cold, and people running terminals had to boot them up manually.
Children could run to the store for adults and buy their cigarettes or cigars for them. (I'd always get my grandfather's 2 packages of White Owl New Yorkers for him.)
-8-track tape players
-transistor radios
-Kodak Brownie Cameras, the Polaroid "Swinger", the Kodak Instamatic
-There were no microwave ovens
-Barbie's only girlfriend was Midge
Women's dress sizes ran 3,5,7,9, and 11 "junior petite"; and "misses" sizes started at size 6.
when the internet was still new...the old chat rooms were filled with a person's photo and their post right next to it.
wait a second...
Remember when walkmans - the portable casette players- were ever so cool? I had one =]
Remember when there wasn't every fad diet under the sun? Mum and I had a convo about that this morning.
Remember the first Polaroids? Instant photos seemed like a miracle
Remember when the coolest shows around were Rocko's Modern Life and Hey Arnold?
Do you remember times when there were no copying machines? Before Xerox?
Remember Saturday morning Cartoons--->from 5:00 AM until 1:00 Pm after which roller derby and wrestling came on?
Remember when reality tv shows first appeared and they were so unique. That was so unlike today when everyone who is anybody has their own show.
We didn't have to get out of our cars to pump gas. Full-Service everywhere, plus fluid checks and windshield wash. Those were the days!
Remember when Carson did the Tonight Show? He was so funny to me! When "gay" meant light hearted? When "crunk" was something you had done to a car? When "crank" was something you do to a car? When "pot" was what you cooked in? When "stoned" was what you did to the village harlot? Okay - I'm not THAT old. lol
Remember when you could say what you wanted without be censored....
Remember the test card- with that soppy looking girl-Watch with mother Bill and Ben were the best. Morecambe and wise Christmas show, brilliant!!
Remember when you could fix things on your own car...and actually "troubleshoot" most all of the problems...yourself...with a little knowledge and experience?
YES.......................
Remember when it took to hands to eat a whopper!!!
Remember when you could do a burn out down the road, with out getting your license taken away?
Remember when you played cowboys and indians with bows and arrows made of twigs instead of sitting in front of a screen playing with guns?
when batman was funny
when you could go to Burger King
when you could listen to music through a pillow over your shoulders that sent vibrations through your bones (think it was called the bonefone)
when you only answered the phone at home
when people actually debated
remember when Cable TV and Satellite did not exist? HBO was the first and only Cable station and "North Dallas Forty" played over and over and over again.
I can remember when gas was 19 cents a gallon!! I'm sure others remember even cheaper.
watching tv was a privelage, and your parents felt the top of the tv when they came home to see if it was warm....
Our temperature was taken anally or under the arm....not using a piece of plastic over the forehead.
Wait....I'm a dog...I still get my temp taken the first way....nevermind.
on the weekends my parents got together with other couples and played cards till wee hours....
we got appliances with blue chip stamps
when we used to live our doors unlocked and when we would play outside until the sun went down , kids can't and don't do that now everything is technologically advanced or someone is snatching a child.
remember when computers knew nothing of what a laptop was?
Remember when chocolate shakes were a quarter and jerks where nice people (of course I've only heard of those things)
Read this on a B-Day card someone sent my mom a log time ago and it still makes me laugh.

Is there a name for driving while in deep thought and arriving at your destination safe?I am not sure if it is some sort of phenomenon to drive while in deep thought for a long distance and arrive at your destination safe and sound, but have no memory of the trip. In other words, you drive...
