thanks beth.
yeah same here. i things people who do thinks out the goodness of their hearts are often the most sincere. like I remember last year on valentines day, i ran into some girl at the bus stop, when i was taking the bus home. she had a bunch of suit cases with her and was crying at the time. it was pretty late at night, and i just got off work late. I didn't say anything to her at first. then i saw the bus schedule saying that i missed my last bus, so i decided i was going to walk home since it was only like 5 miles away. then she stops me and ask if i knew what time it was and when the next bus was coming. when i told her that the last bus had just left according to the schedule, she started to cry and ask me to walk her up to the nearest gas station, so she could call her friend. she looked really scared, so i agreed to help her out at the time.
we went up to the bus stop, but her friend wasn't home when she called her. so i decided to call a cab for us to share one. she went on to tell me how she caught her husband cheating on her, on valentines day, when she got off work. They got into an arguement and he threw her out saying it was her fault. Plus, to make matters worse, she didn't have any money for the cab, so i decided to take out like a 100 dollars from the atm machine for the cab, and told her not to worry about it. we talked for about an hour about how heart broken she was. however, she seemed to be okay once i started to try to cheer her up. we took the cab up to my house first since i lived closer to that gas station, then gave her the rest of the 70 dollars that was left for her to take the cab up to her friends place. i even told her not to worry about paying me back.
she asked me why would i do something like that without asking for anything in return. i just told her it was because i knew how it was like to be heart broken, and that NOBODY should have to put up with that on valentine's day. she was so grateful, she even gave me her phone number. of course i never called her. because i was dating a girl named rose at the time, and i didn't want to cheat on her. besides, i don't regret not calling her, because i know i did the right thing helping her out.
