Why do CPM rates vary so much from day to day?
Does anyone else see substantial variances in their CPM on different days? I have had days where my CPM is over $15 (these were days with very low numbers of views) and days where the CPM is barely over $3. Anyone know why these vary so much day to day?
I think a lot of it has to do with which of our hubs are being seen most. If it's one where major keywords result in ad placements where vendors are only paying $0.10 it'll be a lot different than if we have tons of views for a hub where our average keyword is worth $15.
Google's cycles/updates, as well as who is advertising with them, probably also affects what ads are getting placed.
From what I have seen.. That my CPM fluctuates a lot depending on where my views are at.. Right now at 2,500 views a day average over the last month my CPM has been anywhere from $3-5 dollars.. When my views jump a day to 6-10K my CPM does drop but I have also noticed that on days like that I receive a lot of views from other sites other than Google like Bing, and Yahoo, and from forums, Youtube, and from spread of the word. Therefore these other platforms from my experience tend to lower my CPM than if I received them all from Google.
Either way your CPM will continue to fluctuate daily and this also depends on the ads that are placed on your hubs, and where the traffic comes from.

I ask because I am currently experiencing yet another traffic surge. I've gone from 200+ views per day to in excess of 1600. Yet the income remains pretty darn poor.I've brought this up more than once and I have to say that it's very very puzzling. In every other platfrom that I write on (i.e. my...

How many page views does it take to create $1 ?Now; I realist that page views and hub revenue is not 100% directly proportionate, however I wondered what people found is generally the average revenue generated from a certain amount of page views, I have a rough idea it might be around;400 pages...

Is it realistic to make $40 a day off of 10,000 views daily give or take? Before HubPages suffered from Google Algorithm updates in 2012; I remember doing very well with views on another account, but I don't think my CPM was that high. I pretty much semi-retired from writing on HP during 2014-2016...

Hi,I might sound silly for asking this question, but I could not really understand what CPM is (I read an article, but I'm not good with these things). I know it has to do with the impact that my articles have in terms of views. Although I don't know if "impressions" is the same thing as...

This month my CPM for the HP Ad Program is super low. It's been under $1.50 every day so far. And last month I had a lot of days where it was under $2. Wondering why that is and if it's just happening to me or if others are experiencing this as well.

I'm not sure if this is still the effect of the pandemic, or simply it is February. But I was pretty happy that my daily views are increasing to 300 per day. But after hitting a new high of 400 views, all I get is 0.33 dollar earnings. That was no different than my 200 view per day last September....
