My best Christmas ever

   I just want to brag about my youngest son, a Marine. He is home from Afghanistan and called me today and is coming to see old dad Saturday with his bride in tow. I am elated for he survived and is home and coming to see me! I haven't seen him for several years and he is now a man. I am overjoyed and can hardly wait for Saturday to arrive. He is my baby boy you see, and the last time I saw him I had just gotten out of surgery and was so happy he visited me, then he became a Marine and was gone. Now I think I will go cry again. Gee I am happy!

   That's awesome, Ralwus.  I don't have any sons in service, but my two nephews (to whom I'm close) do help me understand what you're feeling.  One survived 3 tours in Iraq as a Marine and the only one of his boat company to bother to learn the language so he could translate for the rest of his outfit.  He's been out now for a while.
   
   The other is an Army lifer, done I think three tours in Iraq as well, and is stationed currently at Fort Hood--a couple of miles from where the Muslim Major shot up his fellow soldiers. 
   
   Survival is good.  Reunion with a survivor is even better.
   
   Happy Holidays and then some.

    One thing I don't like about the feed, it is easy to miss things as one hubs around. So Maita, get the blessings done with and get the food ready. LOL

    Now UW, you will make me cry again so stop it. I know I will be in tears Saturday anyway. My baby is home! LOL What better time for a reunion as his two brothers will be here as well and an aunt too. I only wish the girls could come. Merry Christmas now. and much love.

    I was 12 and my whole family watched me unwrap my biggest prezzie - a huge box - to find a mouse cage with two adorable mice inside! I'd asked for mice my WHOLE life, so it was the happiest moment for me ever!! hehe

    I am very happy for you and your Marine on this most wonderful of occasions! Good fortune to ya'll...and that of your Marine (w/ his new bride), C! It is excellent news...I have prayed for that Marine of yours safety...many times!
    
    Ya'll have a lot to be thankful for...There is an empty Marine stocking hanging at our house. Not to bum you out...just that this is the reality of the fortune (and the reality of War) that has been given to on you on this very Merry Christmas...and the ones to come! BTW...Our family backs that Marine...100%!
