Hi
I am a new hubber and have published my first article about 2 weeks ago but I don’t see any earnings. I have got 200+ views by now but still not a penny earned. Why is that so??
I am unable to get started with both the hubpages and google adsense program. Because i m haing issues in making a paypal account plus in google adsense they say
“ google has not approved due to follwing reasons i.e site doesn’t comply with google policies”
My article is not sub-standard rather it is of great knowledge and awareness to readers
Anyone who have come across the same issues and now sorted so kindly help me get out through this.
I am really getting disappointed with the result.
Thank you
Hi Hanikhalid, welcome to HP.
If I'm not wrong, you need a certain number of featured articles before you can qualify for the HP ad program.
And even when you are in, it takes much more than 200 views to make $$. I'm not sure about others, but generally not all views convert to payable hits. There are certain criteria to fulfil.
You are not going to make anything until you get an adsense account. You are not going to get an adsense account until you have more articles and have been on this site longer. When you have 10 or 20 articles, and have been on here about 6 months, you can apply again and will probably be accepted.
But wait...are you losing a lot of money in the meantime? No, not really, You are paid on impressions, not page views, and your impressions off of 200 views were probably only about 80, or maybe even less. Until you start getting thousands of page views a day the money is not significant.
Since you are in Pakistan I have heard that Paypal does not operate in your country. Hubpages will only pay you through Paypal. If you cannot open an account you need to have a trusted friend in another country use their account and then transfer the money to you. If this is not possible, and you do not have a Paypal account to provide to HP, they can never send you a payment.
This is not a get rich site. If you are disappointed already and have only written one article then I am not sure you are going to be able to hold out long enough to do well here.
If I am wrong, and you are willing to stick it out and earn from this site, sit down and write another article.
I am sitting down and working on another but had questions in my mind regarding earning so thank you for the detailed answer.
Just a few more confusions to clarify how can i know about the impressions?? And unless I don’t have a paypal account they won’t start my earnings rite?
If you can't open a PayPal account, you won't be able to earn anything. So before you write another article, get that issue resolved.
If you are in a country where Paypal doesn't operate, there's nothing you can do, apart from to link a friend's existing PayPal account to HP and make private arrangements for funds transfer.
Yes i am trying to get it sorted asap.
Anyway thanks a lot for guidance.
To find the impressions, go to your account page. Click on earnings, then earning reports, then click on filters, then select for ad program, then click submit.
It will show you the number of impressions and your CPM for the dates you have selected.
If you do not have a Paypal account the money will just build up in your account. They have no way to pay you.
Good luck on your next article. I just read your Otahara sydrome article. Remember that writing on the internet is different than other types of writing. You only have a few seconds to catch the readers attention and if you do not start out with some important info he or she is likely to bounce out and find someone who is writing what he wants to read. Check out some of the most popular articles on the sites like Owlcation to see what I am talking about.
Even when you do get the Adsense approved and figure out something for Paypal you will not earn much unless your articles are moved to a niche site. If it stays on Hubpages main site it will most likely have a poor page rank and not be opened by anyone looking to read about ohtahara syndrom.
I do not think it is possible to see a CPM and stuff like that on HP unless you are signed up for the HP Ad Program. And to do this you need an Adsense account. Also, since there is no option of paypal, the OP will never sign up for the Ad Program and therefore will not be able to see a CPM here on HP. However, the OP can see a CPM and CPC on their Adsense dashboard once that is set up.
I did submit my article to a niche site but it is not approved yet. As DrMark said i will surely check out some popular articles and improve my content.
You do not need a Paypal account to earn from HubPages. You only need a Paypal account if you want to use the HubPages earnings program. You should opt to use just Adsense. But you need to get an Adsense account first (as DrMark says).
Impressions etc you will find out only after you have an ads program active.
Ok so for now all i need to do is focus on writing and improving content quality.
Thank you all.
Good point. Do you think most of the Pakistanis on this site are using Adsense only instead of the HP program?
Most probably, yes. Not just Pakistan, there are quite a few countries out there that do not allow Paypal.
i asked my friend that i am not finding any earnings in my account so he told me through adsense you can earn.
None of my Pakistani friend is now using this site. That is why none can give information about earnings.
Like I said, it's possible through Adsense. I'm from India and for a while, I had problems with Paypal too not that it was banned, but getting associating it with a bank account took a while. In India you cannot have a PayPal balance, the money is auto-withdrawn to your bank account every day (talk about losing on bank charges). So the first month I had just Adsense.
Oh yes i got your point but for Adsense i need to write more and more
Yup, and be here for at least 6 months too.
Just saw that you're here for 23 months already.
Yes i joined two years ago but couldn’t publish any article because of my pregnancy. Now i m starting up so guess i need to be more patient.
Ah... thanks for that. I completely forgot that Adsense uses bank transfer.
Nope bank transfer is just for the US. Maybe a few more countries now (never bothered checking over the last 4 years). The others receive a good old cheque.
We have bank transfer here in Brazil too. Do you know how to transfer from Adsense to a Paypal account?
That would be perfect. If you ever find out how, let me know
Oop. Adsense pays directly to the bank in India too. And I already have it set up (facepalm moment). I probably did this a few years ago. When I began it was just the US who had a direct bank transfer (some 10 years ago) if I am not wrong.
Yes, I set mine up about 8 years ago and at that time we had checks too.
Okay good. At least I did not imagine this.
It's definitely by direct bank transfer in the UK
You might be mixing it up with Amazon.com. They won't do a bank transfer.
Aaah, yeah! I get my Amazon through Payoneer now. So I completely forgot about that. They were the real problem when I was in India not Adsense.
Someone got this thread back to life after 7 years, read the first post: https://hubpages.com/community/forum/73 … o-everyone you can see that it is optional and you do not have to use it. Nothing has changed over the past 7 years in this sense.

Some people have said they've turned off HP Ads and just use Adsense and actually make more money from Adsense. I'm considering trying that out and was curious how much more some of you are making just through Adsense. Fifty percent more? Twice as much? Triple? Quadruple?

When does HubPages pay a person? How exactly does it work?I have 50 plus dollars, I'm just wondering how all this works or how they pay you - I'm new to the whole process and am excited to actually have earned something from my writing.

I have about 4/5 featured hubs and I started about 2 weeks ago, I'm just curious as to how all of this works! All of my scores are in the 50s and between 14-77 ~ever views~

I have been having issues with PayPal because my Social Security number can not be verified. I think I had a similar problem at College where my financial Aid did not go through at first.I tried getting a Paypal Mastercard and it said my SS card can not be verified and now my account is limited....

A few days ago, I noticed that a lot of people were talking about changing from HP Ad Program to Google AdSense. I had tried that a few years ago, but switched back pretty quickly because I earned better with HP. Recently though, since my earnings have dropped so much, I figured I didn't have much...

Well, no doubt google adsense is one of the best in terms of earning revenue from hubpages. However, i have only been earning cents at adsense!! That's so bad. I desperately need help from fellow hubbers, what should i do to increase my earnings
