    Hello -
This hub has been one of my top performers since I started here long ago. Now it is not featured and has a very low score of 55. I did quite a bit of editing recently but still no change in those two areas.

Your constructive criticism is welcome! Thank you for your help in advance!

Thank you peachpurple! i added some interesting videos and a couple polls. Have a lot of new visitors, but it's still un-featured. Hmmm.. Any more ideas?

Have you tried to share your hub link at social media sites?

Yes, I am not great at social media, but I have quite a few followers on the ones I shared it on.

If your hub was unfeatured for lack of traffic (check the symbol on your account page), being succesful on social media will not help. To be featured, the hub has to have "at least a heartbeat" on Google, which has been interpreted as at least a few views. If no one clicks on it through Google, it will be unfeatured for lack of traffic.

    Natalie,

Don't I feel stupid?!? Thank you so much for pointing that out. Here is the link:

I was starting to wonder why no one had written any comments for this discussion!

    Thanks!

      Hi Michele,

It could be the photos - while they do show off your lovely hair, they are a little grainy. Also think about removing the frames as HP has advised us to avoid them.

Restrict the Amazon to one capsule, or better still, incorporate the description into your text and use an in-text link. They do much better for sales.

Remove the subtitles from the photo capsules. Only use them for text capsules. Search engines 'read' subtitles, and the text that follows, to pick up key phrases.

Tidy up that section that starts, "Products are important..." It's messy and doesn't flow. Add a proper subtitle. You can also add subtitles within a text capsule. Highlight, then choose H2 or H3 from the menu'. Reduce those big white gaps. Lose the bold 'devil'.

"but do not give them free reign..." Should be 'rein'. As in dropping the reins when riding a horse; giving them 'free rein'.

It's a really useful article. Good luck.

Thank you for all of your suggestions; I made almost all of the corrections you advised. I reviewed the Learning Center's advice on how to be featured (I have almost 100 featured hubs), but still don't understand why this top earner has become unfeatured. I happily accept any other ideas you may have! Thanks!! smile

I’ll share two of the things that I noticed. First, the Amazon links seem unnecessary, since people can buy selenium and zinc supplements at their local stores. If the links go to special formulations of the minerals that can’t be bought in stores, you should explain the benefits that you’ve experienced from these products next to the links.

Another thing that I noticed was the strange rendering of some of the characters in the "Hair Products" section. I've checked on two devices to make sure that the problem wasn't my computer's fault and the result was the same on each one.

Thank you Alicia for the feedback! I redid the pictures of my hair so that they show up better and aren't so big. I cropped them. I also went through the hair products section and added bullet points so that it can be clearer. Please let me know if you have any thoughts! They are very welcome! I may just have to wait a couple weeks and then if I don't have much progress with this hub, I will need to go through the Learning Center to get every single detail I can on how to get a featured hub. We shall see! smile
