Hooray, I just received notification from HP that I hit my seven-year anniversary. Thanks for the congratulations, HP. They suggested that for my anniversary present I buy myself a new set of HubPages writing tools (laptop, tablet, phone, camera, notebook...)". Hum, I don't think I can improve on what I already have, an Apple iMac 27 with LED backlit retinal display and a 2-year old iPhone 6 Plus with a good built-in camera. But thanks for the suggestion. When I start making real money on HP, maybe I will. BTW, I abhor laptops. I inherited my son's and it languishes in the closet.
The least I can do is congratulate you on your seventh anniversary, may you enjoy many more.
Congrats!! I hit 7 years awhile back...seems like just yesterday when I first started writing here. Hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have.
Good for you, TimeTraveler. Feels good, doesn't it? Thanks, I really didn't have time to enjoy it until I retired. Now maybe I can start some real writing.
Congrats, BizB! My seven year anniversary is coming up next month.
Shauna, Hooray for you, too. Great, isn't it?
Great, let us know so we can congratulate you. I hope HP appreciates the writers who stick with them.
Congratulations! It’s a great achievement!
Thank you, Chitangrada. Nice hearing from you.
It is, considering I became discouraged and nearly left after six months. A few others gave me encouragement and the incentive to stay. I'm glad I did.
Congratulations, MizBejabbers! I agree laptops are the pits, but it's all I've had lately. While on vacation in Michigan, I'm using the public library computer a couple times a week.
I'm dreaming of have my own good video system to begin posting on YouTube and then using my own videos on my articles. That dream seems a long way away.
I hope you succeed, Marie. Right now if I have a personal video to post, it comes from my iPhone. So far it has worked on Facebook. We'll see whether it works on HP. Thanks for the comment.
Congratulations! Whatever technology you end up using, we're glad to have you writing.
Congrats Miz.
I hate laptops too. I don't use them. Perhaps it's just fear, insecurity ... you know. The same old problem that applies to everything else or perhaps I'm past it. Ha ha.
Write a Hub for this great event and enjoy yourself. Pity they don't offer us something tangible for this.
Manatita, the reason I don't like laptops is because I have visual problems. I've had lasik twice and now I have lens implants and still wear correction. In addition, I was treated last year for a condition in my left eye that my retinal specialist wouldn't define as wet AMD, yet he wouldn't say it wasn't. He eradicated the current problem, but that doesn't mean it won't return. I had a retinal hemorrhage in 1990 in the same eye.
My problem is that the screens on most laptops are no more than 17 in. and I need a large screen. Currently I'm using an Apple iMac 27 and love it. At work we used dual 21 inch monitors, but my 27 in screen still enables me to use it in a dual capacity. On a smaller screen I sometimes have to get it in my face to read the screen to research on one screen and type the document on the other. I had a 10 in. laptop for awhile, and it was almost impossible to get it close enough to my face to read print that I couldn't enlarge to 12 o4 14 pt.
I see. Look after your eyes. Mine's Glaucoma, but I guess it's just to fiddly for me with these small computers. Best wishes.
Manatita, thanks. Sorry to hear you have glaucoma. I guess I need to do a hub about my latest bout with blood in my retina and having to have needles stuck in my eye. Somebody a couple of years ago did a forum on the rhyme that had "stick a needle in my eye" in it. She got some interesting replies.
Nice job on sticking with it. Even though my profile says my account is a year old that is not the whole story as I originally made my account and abandoned it. I only recently actually wrote something and I have now been writing almost a year.
Eric, glad you're back. I think we have a good community here.
Thanks, RJ, it is, because sometimes I got real discouraged and thought about quitting. But I didn't though. It's people like you and Shauna who keep me going.

Woohoo! Three years on this great site! I love writing for HubPages and was so excited to get my 3-year badge. I'm starting to earn a decent amount from HP after 130 published articles, contributing more to forums and questions, and meeting some awesome people. I feel like I've grown as a writer...

Last August, I joined HubPages, thinking it would be an "easy" way to make some extra money. Boy, was I wrong, but it's been an interesting ride, anyway.I'm not the most prolific Hubber or even close to being the most successful, but for a "Hubber Hobbyist," I'm happy with the...

I can't believe I just hit my 10 year anniversary here. Thank you so much HubPages! What started as a whim 10 years ago here has blossomed into a full-time career. I don't write very often here anymore, but without HubPages I would not be where I am today. I am now a quilt...
