Within last few days I have updated an article for three times. Added video and quotes, changed images, as well as made changes in the language but every time I got back the same message that the hub could be featured if some changes are made.

The whole process is so irritating and tiring. Does anybody at all go through the updated version? It seems non featured hub remain so forever and a routine message is sent to the author.

I have lost interest in updating any of my hubs. Posting the link of the hub:

Hope you can give some suggestion regarding the issue.

    Thanks and regards,
    Shampa Sadhya

It's a lovely hub, as evidenced by some great comments. However, the main problem is your English. It's not bad, but it's a little awkward and HubPages is getting really strict about the quality of writing on the site.

I think if you got the introduction right, the rest would be fine. And perhaps the videos are not essential to the article, so I would remove them.

If you need help with rewriting the introduction, let me know.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion. Well, I am unable to understand what you meant by my English being awkward. A little more clarity would help me to have a grip over it.

        Thanks

From what I've read in these comments it appears that you don't know how to write clear, concise sentences.  These would be ones that have a subject and a predicate, are spelled correctly and flow along with what you are trying to say.  The examples from psycheskinner point this out.  What exactly is it you are trying to say?  For example, instead of writing the first example you should be saying..."If I use quotation marks, they place a special emphasis on ....".  Now it makes sense!

English clearly is not your first language, so this is going to be a continual problem for you until you take some classes in writing.  Do that, then come back and try again if you want your work to be featured.

To be honest there are multiple sentences that I do not understand at all.  For example:  "Suppose I say, I quote then it automatically puts a special emphasis".  This is the second sentence and I suspect an assessor would fail the hub right there.

I am also confused by the following line  "Actually, quotes are very significant because that represent the thought process of great men" because the quotes you represent as most important are by a non-famous woman.

There are differences in phrasing between Indian English, American English and British English. It's not that one form is better than another, it's just that HubPages is based in the US, so prefers American English usage. I'm from UK and I get it wrong sometimes too!

    An example of awkward phrasing:
You wrote "A little more clarity would help me to have a grip over it."
British English "A little more clarity would help me get a grip on it."

Replying to TIMETRAVELER2 and psycheskinner who have pointed out the mistakes. I wrote this hub long back and am not very active on HP either. I feel, sometimes we all make mistakes but there should be a proper way to explain it. I am not new here. I have got many featured hubs. Maybe I did not edit my work properly or sometimes errors go unnoticed but that does not mean one lacks writing skill and have poor English.

Thus, I would like to suggest that kindly highlight the mistakes without insulting the fellow member.

    Thanks

All you need to do is edit your article and remove any grammar and punctuation errors. The message is strong, but you need to take each paragraph and edit. Try using grammarly.com, it's free and might point out some easy fixes. Just use the program on one paragraph at a time until they are all up to HP standard. Plus, you will get an idea of what you need to fix. All in all, you need to edit. Make complete sentences and shorten them as well.
