Need Expert Help With Page Ranks!

   Hey guys , I read some hub blogs that the Page Rank of Hubpages has been increased to 7. But when i checked it thru firefoxe SEOQuake I found I to be just "5".
   
   And then another problem is that the page rank for my hubs are listed as "n/a" . Should my hubs also be getting the same page rank as the hubpages?
   
   So whats going on??

      First up, PR is really no big deal. Don't sweat it. PR has no impact on earnings.

         wow! could you elaborate pls?page rank gets you in search result and get u more traffic rt?? howcome it has no impact on earnings?

            You can have PR0 and can top search results. Google doesn't prefer PR for search results ALWAYS.
            
            You can have PR3 and have NO Earnings on blog. I have one blog which has less traffic and is PR3 and have good ranking in search results.

            Pagerank has no impact on search results.
            
            PageRank and SERPs are two different things.

         yeah page rank is just a number and nothing more, it could or could not reflect the number of visitors you get.
         people are chasing the PR number as if that will bring them something . the bottom line is that only visitors are the ones that you can convert into money

            I think I am one of the few people who argue FOR the importance of PR.
            
            It's kind of interesting how many people will talk about the value of backlinks, but discount PR, however PR is the numerical representation of the value of backlinks a page has received.
            
            If you are creating backlinks to increase your SERPS, then page rank is a good indication of how you are doing.

      One thing you will find on hubpages is that there is a LOT of linking between hubs and the tag pages.  This has the effect of pushing page rank to the individual hubs at the expense of getting the PR to the Hubpages home page.  So the PR of Hubpages goes down, but the traffic to the hubs goes up.  So you should be happy it didn't go up to a PR of 8, like Squidoo, where lenses suffer at the expense of the Squidoo home page.

   Page rank is only one part of a formula which incorporates hundreds of variables to figure out where you should be in teh Search engine rankings.
   
   Each webpage has a unique ID, one website can have thousands of pages with different page ranks.
   
   If you work hard your hub page ranks will increase, I have some at PR 4, which is pretty comforting.  I use PR for nothing more than checking to see how many people have linked to my site finding my article useful, and the strength of my webpage networks.

         Imagine you write about a topic that many people find useful, backlink it and ideally you get a really high pagerank. You might come out on top for one search phrase and appear really low for another. None of those factors have anything to do with how much you earn. You could have a page with really dirt cheap keywords and its PR7. That don't mean you gonna make more

   "page" rank is just that - a rank of a page - hubpages.com is a PR5 http://hubpages.com/profile/Lissie is a PR3 http://hubpages.com/hub/Using-EzineArti … h-Hubpages is a PR2
   
   having a high PR home page is nice - and makes it easier for other pages on the site - like your hubs - easier to get PR themselves - but in itself it means nothing. 
   
   A n/a page rank just means that the PR has not been visibly updated by Google yet - it happens about every 3 months or so - last happened early in the New Year. As most of your hubs were published in the last couple of weeks that would be why.
   
   If you want to hurry up the process I'd suggest you build some links to your profile page - which then seems to help rank hubs faster
   
   As others have said - PR by itself is no indication of ranking in the search engines- or so little indication that it doesn't matter.

   PR really only matters for sites using identical keywords, for example 10 sites use key phrase of apple ipod, google will review those sites for PR, search relevance, keyword match, along with about a million other factors. PR comes in almost like a tie breaker if you have 10 sites that rank equally for a set key phrase and the other factors then PR takes over and rates them in order. PR adds credibility to a site but most often has no effect on search engines finding you.

         These are the essentials nano:
         Find some good keyphrases (high or rising search volume + low competition)
         Write your content
         Make sure your content is optimized for your main keyphrases, but not stuffed.
         
         That's it really - it is about content and making sure your keyphrases are in the right places, such as url, title, description, first paragraph, text and last paragraph.

   You can only do so much SEO while writing on a site like hubpages. If you really want the #1 spot on google, make your own blog or site and optimize it.
   
   There are dozens of things you can do to a site to get it ranking good that has nothing to do with individual pages. But since you don't own hubpages you can't do those things.
   
   All you can do is make sure your URL has your key words, your title, and your content. Don't overdo it, and that really is all you can do here.
   
   Well, except for getting links to your hub also.

   Hi Everyone! New to hubpages and haven't even started my first hub yet, lol. So much to learn! I'm completely computer illiterate for the most part so my research has been tedious to say the least. I'm so glad I found this because I have been studying nonstop for the last 2 days on high Page Rank, back links, and linking to other hubpages. I'm so confused. So, seems my hard work on learning how to get high PR was a waste. I do still have questions regarding linking though, if someone can help. Honestly, I'm afraid to do my first hubpage, fear of failure! Was studying the various linking methods and have actually learned how to build my own anchor text back links for associated content websites for traffic but do I have to include my hubpage tracking code on the back links? Do I have to have permission to link to other hubpages? And do I only use my tracking ID when referring others to join and linking to other hubs??? Out of work most of winter and would really like to succeed with the affiliate programs Hubpages offers. Thanks so much for any help.

   The secrets to success (which aren't really secrets ...
   
   
   1.  Pick a keyword phrase with low competition that pays well
   
   2.  Fit that keyword in the title and the URL of your hub. If you mess up and don't get it into the URL, don't sweat it - but you must get that phrase in your title
   
   3.  Get your keyword phrase into at least one of your text headers
   
   4.  Write meaningful content that people will tell others about - happy trafic brings more traffic and more traffic bumps you up the SERPS
   
   5.  Don't listen to the goobers who have a *guaranteed* method to rise up to the top rank in Google. There are no guarantees, but the method above has the highest win percentage.
   
   6.  One last note:  add backlinks to your page or site sparingly when you first develop it and make them all meaningful *meaning, you don't link a site on lawnmower repair from a drag racing site)
   
   7.  Once your site has been around a few months add backlinks more frequently or just let it on cruise control to get the links naturally, as organic (natural) links always outperform created ones.

   Thanks so much Yoshi!!! I have this thing where I make everything much harder than it really is. Been studying and taking notes about 12hours a day for the last week on how to make a successful hubpage with affiliates and I'm brain dead now. Think I'll try and write it tomorrow after sleep.
