On another website I had given a person there the title of one of my PetHelpful articles and this is part of her response to me:
It was a bit hard to read, though, because of the flashing ads and all the pop-ups blocking it out. If I hadn't had you recommend it, I think I'd have moved on.
She had put in a link to my article. So I followed that link and it was indeed terrible to see. I never saw that, because I'm always logged in when I visit the niche pages.
I had to close down two popup ads and the video before I could find my article.
That is terrible. I am afraid all these intrusive ads are doing is driving readers away. It is just ad overkill on the niche sites now.
And yet Maven claims that revenue is up. Makes me wonder if we are living in two different realities.
I know when I land on other sites, I click out if I have to fight ads and videos in order to read the content. I'm sure that's why my page views are down. The only HP/Maven site that isn't riddled with the intrusions is Discover.HubPages.
I'd like to see something from Maven that backs their claim that revenue is up. Maybe theirs is, but ours isn't!

Am I the only one seeing a fairly significant drop in earnings from Sunday, 9/20 to Monday, 9/21? My traffic stayed relatively the same during the same time.
