It would be nice if the minimum payout was $20 instead of $50. (Just thinking out loud).
Glad to see that i'm not the only one who thinks so
It took me five years before reaching my first payout here at HubPages but looking back, I would have regretted it if I decided to quit.
If you stay long enough, you'd come to appreciate it the way it is. Just a little more patience (smile).
Okay, I guess patience is the way to go
$50 isn't particularly high, as far as these sites go. I believe Adsense is $100. Of course, I think we'd all prefer it if we just got paid the balance each month, whatever the figure, but I can't see that happening soon!
Yes, getting paid each month inspite of the figure would've been great.
Adsense is $100. Amazon is $10. Medium pays whatever your monthly balance is even if it is just pennies.
I didn't know medium did that. Thanks for the information.
Unfortunately, the Medium Partner Program does not apply to African countries yet, so I cannot join.
Yea, this would be a much better option, just like its done with KDP earnings.
Authors get paid whatever balance they accrued for that month.
If I were to guess I'd bet it's a money saving strategy. 4/5 People who sign up likely won't ever reach $50 because they give up to quick. So they end up not paying for up t0 $49.99.
I'm made up 4/5 but it's a guess.
Yeah I agree with the money saving strategy. But, I think less people would give up too quick if the minimum payout was a bit lower.
I agree, but that's what they want. I don't think they want us to stay an prosper as much as they want content.
If you are not "prospering" then your content is worthless from an economic perspective. Just saying. So it is counterproductive and of course counterintuitive for them to set it up for failure.
I don't think Hub pages is going to agree to this for the simple reason it means dishing out more money. I know of many writers who earned $25-$40 and then stopped writing and went away and the money was never paid to them because the minimum is $50. That's it.
Yes its a long way to go, to start earning and getting paid here. So most people leave it, out of the frustation. I wish if minimun payout would be $20 here, coz even earning $20 here is not easy for newbies..
It will be nice that way, it can be so motivating. Here patience is key from the look of things, guys earning well have no problem with it, they can atest.

And today it's $16.68. How did that happen?I made payout recently, and I got the check last week. I was thinking I might make payout again this month, with a forty-one dollar total. But now it's clear I won't. How did my earnings since last payout get so drastically reduced overnight?
