    Hi Hubbers,

I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my article? What can I do to improve? Thanks!
Here is my article: Basic Diabetes care

Hi. The first thing that I think you should do is to remove the excessive amount of bold print in the article. In addition, you’ve capitalized words that shouldn’t start with a capital letter.

I also think that you should mention glucose somewhere in the article in order to be more exact. I know your article is written for the general public, but I think they should know that the sugar in the blood is glucose.

Some sections of the article use the word “sugar” many times. Reducing the use of the word might be helpful.

    Hi there,

Diabetes 1 and 2 are very different. You should make the distinction up front. Type 1 is usually discovered in childhood and is irreversible. Type 2 occurs (usually, not always) as a result of lifestyle choices in adulthood and is easily reversed with a change of diet.

You must make it clear in each section which type you are referring to because treatment for each is very different.

Type 2 never needs to supplement with sugar. Type 2 can be reversed with a low carbohydrate diet. Your information, "You need carbohydrates and proteins each time you eat..." is incorrect. Fat is not bad for you, only fat like trans fats are 'bad'. Ketones in the urine is desirable in Type 2 as it means weight loss is happening. You should talk about ketosis and how it can help.

"To get this extra energy the body makes extra Sugar." If the body needs extra glucose, it can break down protein to get it. You need to explain this. When referring to sugar in the body, it is always glucose, fructose, lactose, or whatever-ose. Sugar is in food; once processed by the digestive system is becomes (usually) glucose. Fructose from fruit is processed in the liver.

You've mixed up broil and boil. Americans called grilled food 'broiled'. Boiling is done in water.

You need to do some more research and refer to some authoritative references. I've done a lot of research on Type 2 because my partner has it. Or did have it.

As Alicia says, get rid of the bold text - it makes it very difficult to read.

    Good luck
