Sorry to hear all the sad reports. Well, mine took a dive today.
not yet. just started on HubPages. working hard to reach to that
I am seeing a spike this month off and on. Is there some way of finding out which of my articles is making money and how much?
I would start with FAQ: https://hubpages.com/faq/
I'm not sure there's a way to pinpoint which article is making how much money but someone else might know. There are ways to find out how much traffic an article is getting and rank of the article. But how much money it makes, I'm not sure.
There's no way of knowing for sure, as far as I know. You can make an educated guess, based on traffic and the value of the keywords, but that requires a knowledge of keywords.
Basically, topics can have very different values to advertisers, so 20 views/day for one article can earn as much as 100 views/day for another. It typically relates to the main keywords, which you would normally put in the title.
Obviously, if you have one article getting 100 views per day and the others are earning less than 10, the high traffic one is likely to be the earner.
But like I say, it's mainly educated guesswork, as far as I am aware.
Thanks for trying to answer my question. I was just curios when I had the best day I have ever had money wise.
I know how to tell the traffic an article gets but how do find the ranking of an article?
I don't know how to find the rank either. A writer here named lobobrandon has talked about doing it. If he comes on he might be able to tell you. Of course, you might be able to do a Google search and see where it is in search engine results. If it's at the top it's doing well.
Brandon feeds the URL into the SEMRush website to find out rankings, I believe. (He'll correct me if I'm wrong!)
I think that's the only website that tells you for free nowadays.
I used to use the Neil Patel one for finding out various info, but that only gives you 3 searches/day now. Otherwise you have to pay a subscription.
As Eug says below, it can get complicated with rankings.
Yeah, I just went to Ubersuggest earlier to look up keyword search volume and found out I could only look up 3 words. Used to be if you opened a free account you could just look up keywords.
And yes, that's right rank is a bit complicated. A person has to have at least some knowledge of the keyword's search volume to get an idea if search results show a good position or not.
Ranking as I understand it depends on the search term. So you may be high up in the SERPS for one stirng of words, but not for another that's highly competitive. You can do a search on Startpage.com or similar websites that don't bias the results based on what you've searched for before. Using a VPN might work too.
Earnings go up and down from day to day, but the overall trend for me is downwards.
Traffic seems to be different for everyone, depending on topic and time of year.
My traffic's gone up very slightly, but I think that's seasonal. July is always the worst.
I expect my traffic to go up a little more as we go into September. But I've not seen any signs of a recovery so far. I'm expecting a long wait now, to be honest. (I hope I'm wrong)
Mine was down .6%, but that's up from a couple of days ago when traffic was down 20+%.
Mine was up slightly just because of one Amazon sale. Looks to be tracking slightly down for the month though.

Okay, today I have noticed drastic decrease in page impressions and record low earnings in my adsense account. I had not thought before today that google algorithm change will have such a effect on our traffic and earnings. Today, I find myself what I was three years back. Only a few cents per...

Just curious, but does anyone have experience with this? How'd you do it? Did you tell Google the article moved somehow or do anything else fancy? Or did you just copy, paste, delete from HubPages, and wait for Google to catch up?Im guessing there might be some duplicate content penalties from...

I just checked my earnings panel, and I was quite surprised to see that my earnings from yesterday were 2 cents. They have been in the range of 20 cents to about 75 cents a day. Yesterday was actually a fairly high traffic day for me, and that doesn't make sense. Any idea why it would be that low,...

Okay - It seems there was an update to the definition of our earnings. I cannot say when it occurred.Basically we are paid for pageviews. One payment per view of article, regardless of how many ads are delivered to the reader, unless they back out before the first ad is actually viewed. Then we...

I'm pulling 2013 kind of randomly, but I really miss how HubPages used to be. It used to be a really friendly place. We used to have kind of an "in" with the administration in that Maddie and Simone would give us advice. There used to be contests to motivate us to write.I understand that...

This is very, very, unfortunate, but it seems I have been penalized by a Google Alg or something. I have OVER 100 HUBS that have BLUE ARROWS. My traffic went down earlier this year a bit, but stayed consistent for several months. Now it has dropped by 50%. Not sure if this occurred today or...
