The "!" on one of my articles

One of my articles has the usual edit mark on it, crayon, pencil or whatever it is, plus it has an exclamation mark.  I thought the exclamation mark meant that a link was broken, but the article doesn't have any links in it. Although there are plenty of ads all over it. It's the article titled "3 Simple Tricks to Teach Your Horse" (It might be 4 simple tricks, sorry).  So if there's no links in the article what would the "!" indicate?  ~Thanks you

      Now it's gone. So, anyways.

Idk if you still care about the answer, but that usually means a new, "professional edit," was made. It just means a HubPages editor has touched up your article personally.

As Kyler said, the pencil icon means that your hub was selected to be professionally edited. See details at  https://hubpages.com/faq/#HubPro-details

All the icons are defined at the bottom of the stats page.

That exclamation mark could indicate a broken link to the image you used in your article.
I am sure about that because I have that sign on one of my articles. See the images to understand what that means and how you can figure it out

That’s true if that’s what it was. But Joanna wasn’t sure. As you see from her comment, she said it might be a crayon or pencil. That seemed to indicate she had the “HubPro” work done by an editor.

All icon explanations are at the bottom of the stats page.

Joanna, I just read your question again and realize I overlooked something you said. You actually were very clear in saying you saw an exclamation mark over the pencil icon.

Aha. That means it was edited by one of the editors as I mentioned earlier. And the exclamation mark meant that you didn’t look at it yet to see what was changed.

Once you open it and look at the edits that were done, the exclamation mark goes away and just the pencil icon remains.

So there you have it. That’s the explanation you were looking for.

Thanks goes to you, Misbar. smile Your comment made me go back and read her question again. I missed the most important part of what she said.

I hope she comes back to see this, but I don't think she's notified. Only three of us are following this thread and she's probably not one of them. Only you, me, and Kyler. neutral
