Brenda never fails to challenge our perceptions.  In this case, she humanizes the man in the moon. Is he sad?  You decide by reading her poem. https://letterpile.com/poetry/Poem-Man-in-The-Moon

I'm fascinated by the- Man-in-the-Moon myth, any time I read or write about the Moon.                                                  My research opines that some beings has lived a sort of life younder there on the Moon, before the Big Bang took place.                                       Brenda, has really wrote a short, lively, and nice poem that I like.

Thanks for posting Peggy. A sad man in the moon is an intriguing idea, and a poignant image. Nice work Brenda.

Thank you, Peggy, for posting this Brenda's poem. Yes, she is highly creative when she pictures the face of a man on the moon. She wonders if he is sad or lonely. Loved her poem immensely. Thank you, Brenda, for the wonderful share.

Doesn't everyone picture a face in the moon?

      I see it every night.

It's a common phenomena. But certain are not used to seeing it.

          A rabbit???
I've got to see a picture.

Okay...next time I get to see the moon, I'll look to see if I can see a rabbit.

It won't be tonight because it is snowing & will probably be overcast.

A rabbit??? Must be a different viewpoint.  Lol.

Yes, a different perspective obviously. I definitely see long ears there kind of like one of those chocolate bunnies you get at Easter. We re down under here, maybe we see the Moon upside down lol.

              You're cracking me up. Lol!!
Just cause your down under...I doubt if it's upside down, but I'll try to picture my moon upside down & let ya know.

              Chocolate Bunny Rabbit ears...
This is got to be a first for the Man in the Moon.

Are you sure it's the moon?  Maybe it's an alien planet that only Aussie's can see.

Now who’s cracking who up? I know we are a long way away but…..actually we do see different star constellations here in the Southern Hemisphere like the Southern Cross, so maybe anything is possible. But, whatever…it’s a rabbit and I’m sticking to it. Now, I think I need to write a poem about it.

John, this comment is coming late. I believe there was a glitch in the middle of the day on hubpages end.                                              One thinker claim that insects lives on the Moon. How about that?

Brenda, here's something I tried to told John yesterday.                                          The ancients saw mountains, hills, valleys, seas and rivers on the Moon with the naked eye, before the invention of the telescope. Does that mean something to you? I once wrote that the fair mermaids initially habitated the Moon, before the judgemental  Big Bang took place. Surely, you also will have a problem with this?

                Miebakagh
                I don't use a telescope either...just the naked eye.

Mountains, hills, seas...maybe a reflection of some kind??
Mermaids...now that one is a stretch.

I think I read an article about mermaids somewhere.

Okay Miebakagh...you got to start penning this stuff down.
Go to a library and work.

Wow! What an imaginative piece of writing, Brenda. This is the ultimate show of poetic skill, in my opinion. Your have given life, personality and emotion to something we take for granted. Although we are intrigued by the moon, I don't think most of us give it humanity. Well done!
