Has anyone watched this? I subscribed to Disney+ for the sole reason of catching the documentary. It's absolutely phenomenal! You see each member as people, not our idols. And they're so funny! Especially my favorite Beatle, John Lennon.

The film touches base on when and why George left The Beatles (and came back), Paul's discomfort with Yoko (she took away the brotherhood he and John shared, which disrupted their songwriting) and you really see how the group who had been together since their teens interacted and paid attention to what each member had to offer when perfecting their music.

We also see that Billy Preston became the fifth Beatle in the making of the Let It Be album. I never knew that!

The first episode was only available on Thanksgiving Day. The second on Friday and the third today, Saturday. However, now all three are available for streaming at your leisure.

If you haven't watched it, I strongly recommend any Beatles fan to do so. It's worth the $7.99 fee if you don't already have Disney+.

This expose documents the last time The Beatles played live. The year was 1969.

I have Disney+, actually, as I am replying to your post, my father-in-law is watching it. So, I watched a glimpse of it just now, and I am surprised by the quality of the documentary! I'm going to watch it with my husband tomorrow. We love The Beatles!

You're so going to love it, lizmalay. I love The Beatles, too! I just may have to watch it again. It's a real foot-tapping-head-bobbing film.

I've just started watching the first episode again. I'm picking up on things I didn't grasp the first time around. It'll take me weekends to get thru the next episodes, but I definitely will. This documentary keeps The Beatles alive for me. We've lost two of them. The loss of John Lennon hit my soul deeply. I hope this series comes out on DVD so I can relive the history over and over again.

Kudos to Peter Jackson! I can't wait to watch the whole 3 parts. I think the best thing about a streaming service like Disney+ we can watch it anytime we want. I hope to sit down, and drink some warm tea whilst watching this great band come to life again! My husband introduced to me "Imagine" by JL when I first knew him. He was so talented and gifted. We probably will buy the documentary should it come out digitally, Brenda.

Credit goes to Peter Jackson who worked with 60 hours of footage, 150 hours of music. http://movieroar.net/movietrailers/2021 … rt-series/

Yep. They mention that at the beginning of each episode. I can't imagine how long it took to edit all the film to come up with the end result.

One thing I need to mention to anyone who watches the documentary: be sure to watch all the way thru the credits on the last episode. There are some epic shots, music, and conversation you won't want to miss.

John, I hope the series is offered in The Down Under. It's sooooo worth the watch! I learned so much about each member as a person, and the group collectively.

Peggy, it's more than fun; it's enlightening! I learned things about John, Paul, Ringo and George that I never knew, Really a fabulous documentary. The beauty is you can cancel Disney+ at any time - no  contract.

Don't forget George Martin. I thought he was considered the fifth Beatle for his arrangements. The interview with Paul McCartney on BBC was interesting too.

Eugene, George Martin was a record producer for the Beatles. He didn't actually play in the band. If you have access to this documentary, you'll see when Billy Preston came into the mix. It was pure happenstance, but right in the moment.

See if you can get this series in your country. It's amazing and absolutely worth watching. The entire series is live and candid. I can't say enough about how revolutionary and honest it is.

I don't have Disney+ but it sounds awesome.

I'm a Beatles fan.  Maybe it will be offered on other channels eventually.

    Thanks for sharing.

Brenda, I downloaded Disney+ just so I could watch it. The subscription is $7.99 and can be cancelled any time.
