      John, I love your essay and poem. It seems the number 13 has had an ominous presence in your life.
      
      I actually like the number. My son was born on July 13th (a Monday) and when I was a freshman in high school I won all the Rolling Stones albums from a radio station on Friday the 13th.
      
      Congrats on thirteen years, my friend. Without this platform, you and I would never have known each other existed, let alone become friends!

         Hi Shauna, it is always great o receive your comments, and yes we have HubPages to thank for us getting to know each other and our friendship.
         I think good and bad can be found for any number if we look for it. Number 13 no exception. It’s just we tend to remember things more that happen on that date or are associated with the number.

   I am extremely happy for you, my friend. You have accomplished an incredible feat—more power to you, my friend. Always be optimistic when it comes to number 13. I'm not superstitious, but in my family, it's not allowed to arrange any events, such as weddings, on the dates 3, 13, 23 and 8, 18, and 28. My mother frequently tells me not to wear black, but I do. I don't believe in superstitions, but who knows why my ancestors made these rules? Whenever my brother sees a black cat, he always changes his route. Lol!
   
   
   Wishing you good health, peace, happiness, and success in the now and always. Keep spreading love, light, and smiles; no one can do that better than you. You are an inspiration to me and many others.
