For the past three days, views on my account have declined daily at the rate of about ten per day, despite having many featured articles that were being read at a rate of about twenty per day. Is there a glitch or some kind of accounting adjustment occurring?

Everything is working properly. It seems you are just not getting much traffic from search engines. It could be competition from other articles, algorithm changes, unpopular search terms, etc.

It’s going up and down as always.

Well, that remind me of my Queen Primier lesson.                                    When traffic is to go up, it is to go up, it is to go up! When it is to go down, it is to go down!

Everyone is being affect. Up and down. Up an down.                                               And think of your profile score...up, down. Up and down.

Views go up, views go down. It's the nature of the beast.

Well, that is funny. I didn't expect to be issuing refunds for time badly spent reading my stuff. I thought it was reader beware!
