Hello, I'm not sure if I'm in the right section to ask this; but I noticed that I am not able to comment on writers' articles, even when other people have. I'm wondering if its because the author changed the setting, or am I just missing something/ not seeing where to comment? Thank you in advance!smile

Comments aren't available on most of the network sites now. You are probably seeing old ones or messages on the networks that do have them.

Are there plans to enable it on Dengarden?  Readers always have lots of questions about gardening, my niche.

Yes, we are planning on enabling comments on Dengarden and the other Network Sites.

    Broken record alert.

In its current iteration commenting is completely useless. Writers are not notified if comments are made, so anybody can attach spam, vile racist, homophobic, sexist and conspiracy theorist crap to our articles and we won't know. It will look as though we approve of such drivel.

Gotcha. I've been off hub pages for a few years and got inspired to write again- hence me just now noticing the difference with the commenting.  I did look around in other forums after posting this, and found others asking the same thing. Thus it does make me sound like a broken record, my apologies!

No Neena. My "broken record" comment was not directed at you; it was directed at myself, as I've bellyached about the useless nature of the current comment format on these pages several times. You are blameless in raising the topic.

If someone else features your article on the forum, then we can leave comments and discuss on here.

I'm guessing comments have to be physically copied and pasted from the old article versions to the new ones, so that may be why it's taking so long to implement. There are several third party tools that can be used to generate an alert when a website changes, so they could be used as a workaround to send a notification about a new comment. Visualping is one such tool.
Why can't code be run to generate a notification email when a reader submits a comment?

That's not the reason. We are working on it.
