Is it just me? Or has your articles dropped very low with views? And of course the earnings have slumped too.
It just seems strange that it's happened all of a sudden.
Thanks Guys!
Hi Nell, are you referring to today? Because they have plummeted which is a usual thing for me on Saturdays. But it's been like this for at least a year and hasn't gotten better. It's getting progressively worse. I wish HP staff would be honest with us and share a prognosis.
Yup, traffic sucks. CPMs suck. It's tough out there.
Sometimes it randomly happens, and after a week or two, it starts to go up once again. I stopped to seek rational explanations behind my statistics because there was no point in doing that.
Statistics are complicated species living on their own.
It's me also and the fellas yonder thy ponds! I'm being curious now. Where you on your hospital sick bed, or on leave from hubpages, when the views start to get that low? I got tired discussing the topic with others. I'll be back later...later. And now I'm back. Thanks for the read: A 'Penny ForThe Guy'. You Englishs are interesting!
Well, one thing I have noticed, Nell, is that whenever I submit an article for publication, it takes longer than before for HubPages to decide on whether or not to feature it. How do you figure that?
I have never made but a few dollars, guess I never knew what to do. Does make me feel like a loser though. lol
Hello, I just want to chime in and say that you're not not a loser for making a few dollars here at Hubpages.
I sort your profile and I notice that most (or all?) of your articles are on the Letterpile site and are mostly fall under creative writing genre. Since HP earnings are mostly from search engine seraches it is likely that we only make a few cents or dollors from Letterpile articles because people don't usually search about them.
Ideally, articles about tips, how to's, and such are the articles that tend to do well here in terms of earnings.
More or less a third of my published articles right now are published on Letterpile and they gather little to no traffic weekly. Despite that, I still write Letterpile articles from time to time out of passion.
If you want to increase your earning you might want to consider to write for other Hubpages network site.
Traffic goes up, traffic goes down. Some days it's good, some days it sucks. Nature of the beast. (shrugs)
I think this is a cue for a little light poetry. I'll commission ChatGPT to compose some verses on the subject.
Weekends do seem to see lower internet usage in general from years of data I have. Summer and good weather seems to indicate lower views too.
My views have the unenviable habit of slumping during the weekdays, and surging on the weekends.
Having said that, staff went through many, if not all articles on PetHelpful, and implemented those image changes they recommended. Whether it is the new format (getting rid of text on the first image and pushing the original lead image further down the page) or adding new images across many of the site's articles, views have doubled as have income over the last 45 days.
So there is some hope out there.
I have had low views forever but the last few month have been even lower. I am glad it is not just me.
We've been debating about this for months. It's a mix of Google algorithms not favoring HubPages together with the decline of writing/journalism in general due to, for instance, new AI technologies that are changing the industry at the speed of light.
We're in a challenging period. But nothing is only dark, and there sure are opportunities/possibilities. I still have faith in HubPages and am here for the long game.
Yeah, but AI doesn't experience reality the same way humans do, so AI could not create the level of quality of articles that humans produce. For example, what is AI going to care about discoveries and breakthroughs in dental technology and all the religious politics tied into whether or not embryonic stem cell research should be legal? People are still going to be able to tell the difference between something produced by AI and something produced by humans in the literary realm.
I think adding fresh images makes a bigger impact than rearranging words and punctuation on older articles. It is a lot of work though, finding good images is as time consuming as writing the article in the first place.
Thanks guys. Yes after me being on here for over 10 years I should know by now, lol!
I'm seeing a bit of a ramping up in traffic in the last few days. It's still half of last years though.
Same here. It feels like it's been going slightly upward the last few weeks. Fingers crossed for the trend to continue.
I sincerely believe so. We were down a lot already. Now it's time to rise and shine.
Seems to be short lived. Unfortunately.
Traffic has come crashing down again. This is just crazy!
This will be the first time in about 8 years that I won't hit 50 dollars! Never mind. Better get back writing, lol!
The trend didn't last for long. Traffic started dropping again mid week because of an update.
Phew! I just skimmed past the 50 dollars this last month, lol! better start writing some more stuff. To be honest it does need updating, and new articles are the way to go.
Traffic rising again, albeit slowly.
Gosh, this up-down-up-down is making me dizzy!

Wow! I can't believe I hit 10 million views on my articles. Thank you so much HubPages and to everyone that has checked out my articles these last 12 years! I learned so much about online writing when I was part of the apprenticeship program years ago. Thanks also to Robin &...

Who continues to edit and write here and notices an uptick or more in views, CPM or revenue?
by Oyewole Folarin 6 years ago
An editor reviewed this particular hub and decided that due to the fact that it has been extensively covered they could not get it on Toughnickel. To my surprise I found it doing well on the main site - HubPages.

Why do you think the hub with the highest score was scored higher than your others? Interested to know.

I’d like to start by explaining that my articles are all published to niche sites except one which is still pending consideration. I’ve edited and revamped these articles to death. I’ve waited for these changes to kick in despite that, less than 30 views per day on some that seem to perform on a...

Well I hope not of course, but when I started writing on Hubpages years ago there were a lot of writers and a lot of encouragement. These days I know Matt pops in now and again but otherwise it's a bit of a closed door and CPM for the last few weeks at approximately $1.50 seems to be about half of...
