Where is the "Comment" section?

I have not been active for ages.  I notice that all my new hubs do not have the "comment" section at the end of my hub.  Or am I missing something?

The new owners of HP took away comments a few years ago.

Yes, Matt. But no further?                                    What's Rojo playing?

Yea, Rojo. Seems it replaced the comment button, generally for all sites? Just wondering.

Rojo is still around. We may add more sites to it in the future.

It seems to me that a complete roots and branch overhaul of HP is needed, the sooner the better. Google updates are squeezing the life out of the site, it's painful and plain to see.

With a fresh CEO, TAG has a rare opportunity to almost start from scratch and bring about a rebirth of HP as a viable and profitable writing site.

Thanks Matt. But this 'adding more sites' seems like a mirage.                                              For years, writers here, including my good self, beg for the comment system to be restored to either hubpages, or discover.                                Promises that it will be done failed, but commenting was restored on niche or vertical sites. Then enter  Rojo, only to wait for additions? But for how log? Thanks again.

It was never really explained why the comments disappeared.

My own theory is that there was too much spam appearing via the comments and it was hurting the site. Most writers here aren't "active" and so weren't checking and filtering out things like spammy comments.

Maybe HP couldn't find a good way around this problem?

That's the best explanation that I can think of.

Please kill Rojo. It's useless as writers are not notified if comments are made, which they rarely are. Without a heads up we can't moderate input and that leaves us vulnerable loathsome attacks and spam.

The comments section is too far down the page, below the tacky ads, so it's unlikley people would notice it.
Can HTML code not trigger an email notification when a comment is added?

Matt, did you say commenting is available on soapboxie and letterpile? I have checked again and found nothing. Kindly explain how I can get commenting to start on my articles on the two platforms.

You don't have to personally do anything. The comments are live, readers/authors simply have to sign up to create one. One of the major downsides as Rupert has pointed out, is that we no longer get notifications so it's impossible to know if/when we receive a new comment.

Letterpile uses the first comment system they tried. Under the Letterpile video there is a link that says comment. Clicking that should take you to the comment section, but the pages are so jumpy it still might take awhile to find and/or load. It's located between the recommended for you ads and the recommended articles. You can read all comments from the old HP or any new ones that have been created, but you need to sign up if you want to write one.

Soapboxie is one of the two niches that uses the newer Rojo platform. That is an external site. The link can be found below the author's name at the end of the article. It will either say "Join the conversation" (if there are no comments yet) or "read comments". You are then taken to Rojo where you can read any previous comments or make a new one (again need to sign up to create).

For those wondering, Samantha stated years ago that the new Maven platform did not support comments in the way that HP originally had them. That is the reason we have the system on Letterpile. I can only assume that didn't work out well, which is why Rojo came about.

Rojo was suppose to expand and become a community engagement platform of sorts between readers and authors. It feels like a failed attempt or they simply never finished with the design and expansion of the site.

It has yet to go live on the other niches, but it is also not very popular from what I can tell. It is only on Soapboxie and Delishably, or the news of Pethelpful, Exemplore, and Dengarden. However, come to think of it, I have not actually seen the link on Delishably for awhile now. Double checked Soapboxie and it is still there, but I didn't see it on the two news articles I tried at Pethelpful and Dengarden either.

How come there's a comment section on some sites (e.g. Wanderwisdom) and Rojo on others? Was Rojo the replacement? I can't remember all the twists and turns in the saga.

It looks like a mess and the reasoning has never really been explained, so I'm not holding my breath that any new answers will be forthcoming.

If we had: "We're sorry about this but here's why we had to do it..." I think that there'd be more understanding.

Maybe it's some sort of live experiment?

I don't even bother to check comments anymore and I never got started on Rojo.

A dream maybe, or we're in a Truman Show. Or we're guinea pigs and TAG are aliens.

The lack of this explaination is one reason I think Samartha Cubbison, had to leave hubpages.
