HP has not yet transitioned us to GA 4. If UA isn't transferred/exported to GA4 by Monday, July 1st, all existing data will be permanently deleted and won't be recoverable.
What is HP doing about this?
I suspect Matt will say they are working on it.
Good question! I remember months ago I supposedly converted to the new system. I followed the step-by-step procedure at analytics. But, I just now went to analytics and they are wanting me to create an account. Huh!
I attempted to do that, yet I must confess I am confused what they want to complete it. So, I'll forgo it for now. Maybe if HP communicates something to us, then I will make a valiant attempt to do something about it.
Is there any value to using the new version of analytics? I used the old system mainly to see where my articles were read, how long readers were staying on articles, and how they were read. I use the analytics HP provides at our articles today.
Because HP was phasing out the use of Google Adsense for monetization by the time I joined HP, I got approved for Google Adsense; but I never really went into Google Analytics. I checked it today, but I could find no historical data on my account. It hasn't been deleted altogether yet, but it provides me warning that it will be soon.
I thought we were? I have trends and real time data since last year, but I gave up using GA because it didn't give any useful information like it did previously and is user unfriendly. I think we lose historical data anyway and have to export from UA if we want to keep our stats data?
It's not a matter of concern in my world. Finding out how many people in Uzbekistan read my article on Marmite is of total irrelevance to me.
It isn’t of concern to me either, as Rupert says, and I agree with Eugene, I also find it very user unfriendly.
Hi, Rupert and John! You share my opinion. I am not worried of it either.
Concentrate on the quality and friendliness of your stuff. That is the only thing we should think of.
I do not bother much any longer with GA. I do spend lots of time though with Semrush. You can learn a lot about HP's niche sites with a daily dose of Semrush.
Thanks for this info. I getting back to my travel writing, and that may help me decide what to work on next for HP.

The tracking ID is no longer in the UA-123456-1 format but a GA4 format. See Google Analytics Support website article entitled ([UA→GA4] Data collection and tagging) that discuss this. I could have added a link but didn't want my account closed. Until HubPages changes the format, my account...

I received an e-mail addressed to "Dear Google Analytics Administrator" (I guess that must be me because I'm the only one here, although I was unaware I held such a lofty post) that required action.Something about GDPR was mentioned, without explaining what that is. My guess is God Damned...
