The homepage for HubPages has been updated and it now features current articles. What a nice change!

I noticed Soapboxie and Feltmagnet are no longer categories shown on the homepage.

Janis, that is good news, but the blog page is still over five years old.

...and just look at some of the top quality stuff that's now being featured at the top of the front page! Obvious SPAM and junk. Ugh.

But hey, at least those annoying out of date adverts saying that "so and so makes $350 a month on HubPages and has been able to splurge on a car upgrade!" are gone!

Holy crap. I would like to know how to get to that page. Every time I do a search using the site's title I get sent to this feed. I can't seem to access the home page.

Rupert, I had the same problem. You have to back out of everything that appears after the / in order to get there.

Try this. I guess the original HP site is defunct for outside searches. This is what comes up as default when you Google HubPages:

      https://discover.hubpages.com/

This is a good indication that HP as we were drawn to and through which we built a following has gone the way of ashes to ashes, dust to dust!

I never log out of HP. But in doing a Google search, it lead me to Discover.Hubpages.com. HP in it's raw form appears to be dead to Google, Bev.

Discover.Hubpages.com delivers teasers for all the niche sites. Strangely, it does not give a link to Discover.

Fortunately, they seem to have updated the three articles featured for each niche. Owlcation had featured one of my articles for more than a year providing an exciting experience for anybody looking for something new.

hubpages.com goes to https://www.hubpages.com/index.php and the message "404. That page doesn't exist."

It's all designed to flummox geezers and in that endeavour it is astoundingly successful.

I think the idea is that we regularly visit the page and watch the niche sites gradually disappear.

Yes, nowadays Discover is the home page. No hubpages.com can be assessed directly. Only, your unfeatured articles take you there. It is only for personal purposes. It's not a public site.

When I check my traffic sources, I see that I'm getting hits on both Hubpages and Discover. I wonder how?????

Janis, As far as I can tell, the only people who can click to your profile from HubPages.com are other Hubbers while logged in. So those traffic sources you see are most likely your followers.

You can see what I mean by going to your profile while logged in, and clicking the “following” tab. Then select anyone you are following to see what they have been doing.

Thanks Glenn. I see what you're saying.
