I am starting a thread so writers can inform each other about articles being moved to existing network sites.

I am happy to say that one of the articles I submitted about a month ago was moved from Discover to WonderWisdom today.

Is anyone else having articles moved to network sites?

I had my latest three articles moved to HobbyLark today.

At least they aren't on Discover any longer.

It looks like a lot of articles were moved to HobbyLark today.

I had a See How They Play/Discover article move to WeHaveKids today.

Congratulations Kenna. I didn't know that HP retained WeHaveKids as a niche site.

I checked on the organic search traffic for WeHaveKids on Semrush as well. It looks like WeHaveKids, much like HobbyLark, hit rock bottom around November 12 in terms of organic search traffic. Since then, traffic has increased by 31%.

During the same period, HobbyLark's organic search traffic increased by 49%.

Let's hope that the momentum keeps up.

          Gregory,

          Thank you.

I edited and submitted the article to WeHaveKids. It worked. Thanks for the statistics! It looks promising, for sure.

Yes. I submitted one to Delishably about three weeks ago and it has just been moved. Moving to Network?niche sites (which is it?) used to take a day at most, at least for me, now it takes several weeks. An indicator of how few staff HP still has?

Niche or network, I've seen them interchange.

I've had some articles moved from a rock to a hard place. In other instances, articles have been moved from a hard place to a rock.

I’ve been so preoccupied with seeking alternative writing platforms (that aren’t sinking), I haven’t noticed.

Maybe they have, maybe they haven’t, do I even care anymore?

My feelings exactly. They do badly wherever they are so does it matter?

The only two niche sites that my stuff was aimed towards were ReelRundown and Spinditty, and they have both been demoted, so ... nope.

i gave up writing here 14 months ago and started a blog nearly a year ago which Google hasn't even indexed. Meanwhile nobody, not even local newspapers want to publish articles.

Drew, it looks like some of your articles were also moved to HobbyLark. I hope I'm correct.

Yes, I just saw it, but strangely enough, its under Marvel category rather than comics.

Drew, I wonder who is responsible now for moving these articles from Discover to HobbyLark, Owlcation, etc.

I requested Lisa and Matt to transfer my articles which originally published on Soapboxie to Owlcation. 21 articles of mine that were initially categorized under World Politics on Soapboxie are now moved under Humanity on Owlcation. They said that articles can be transferred from Discover to niche sites as long as the topics fit with a similar category. Now, my stats are showing lots of double red triangles. smile

eugbugposted 5 months agoin reply to this

Might do that with mine. I had one article moved from Dengarden to Owlcation, but then I got it moved back to Dengarden when it didn't do well. Owlcation would be better than Discover though. Similarly for articles that were on Turbofuture, maybe  they would be suitable for Owlcation. But if it's going to go the way of the other network sites, it's hardly worthwhile doing this.

Yes. Just had an article moved to Owlcation. In addition, I've had a poem moved to Letterpile about a month ago and at least three moved from Hubpage to Discover. So, still, these avenues are open for the time being.

  12. eugbug profile image68
    eugbugposted 5 months ago

Matt has just moved five articles for me from Discover to Owlcation. They were sort of STEM related tutorials, a couple from Turbofuture, and one was on Dengarden previously, but they fit into Electrical Engineering on Owlcation. I suggested an Electronic Engineering category a few years ago on Owlcation, but I guess it's not something that would be done at this stage.

viryaboposted 5 months agoin reply to this

Do we have to make a request to have them moved? And does this mean the one article every fortnight no more applies?

I just emailed team@hubpages.com and included a list of links to the ones I thought would fit the site.

Eugene - how are several articles moved to Owlcation at once when we are only allowed to submit one every two weeks?

    1. eugbug profile image68
eugbugposted 5 months agoin reply to this

Not sure Rupert, it must be one of the unexplained mysteries of HubPages Land. Was that not a criteria for new articles?

  14. Rupert Taylor profile image85
    Rupert Taylorposted 5 months ago

Thanks Eugene, I'll give it a try. My experience remains that Owlcation articles do better than Discover ones. There's the added benefit of not co-habiting with some of the crap on Discover.
