Backing Up Your HubPages Thread

I've started a new thread about backing up your HubPages articles. I'd hate to see this topic get lost in the turbulent waters of the forums. It's essential with the unsafe waters; we back up our articles to avoid losing them if and when HP folds under or kidnaps them. Here is Gregory's comment for another thread:

OK, here is the thread from five weeks ago. You will have to scroll down the page to where Kenna and I were discussing backing up articles. Eugene's comment is down further from my comment. He had some really helpful suggestions.

I am sure that perhaps you and other authors here have a better way of doing this. However, I have spent lots of time since 2018 writing and researching my American nostalgia articles, and I just don't want to lose any content.

Like you said above, all of us need to be "prepared."

Edit: I wish that I had read Eugene's comments before I backed up all 114 of my articles.

I’ve found the simplest way to back up an article is to print it to pdf.

      - From your stats page, click “author view” on an article
      - In author view, click “source” below each media image (just to display the source link)
      - Highlight the whole article from title to copyright
      - CTRL +P
      - Save to PDF

This method preserves your links and copies into a pdf format that you can save to your computer.

        That works, too.

Thank you, Kenna! When forum topics reach upwards of five or six pages, it's too hard and time consuming to find what you're looking for. I've just today taken to printing responses that provide information I need to cling on to, one of which it Cloverleaf's recommendation to save our online posts as pdfs.

I am also organizing my saved articles by niche or topic so they are easy to find when I need to access them.

I type all my articles in MS Word, then copy & paste into HP modules. This way, I have my own copy with the names of my photos, the Amazon Ad Code number, etc., for when & if I want to publish them elsewhere.

Kenna, the link that I posted is still working on the other thread, but for some reason it is not working here on this thread.

Instead of “select all” you want to swipe over from title to copyright.

Excellent thread, Kenna...thank you!  I also created a PDF of my statistics pages, etc., as well.

That's a good point, Genna. The statistics page is an important asset, just like the articles.

Kenna, many thanks for this thread. I am saving my articles.

Thank you so much for this, Kenna. This will be my task for this weekend.

I have 4 accounts here at HP, and I've been putting this off for too long.
Although I have all of my articles on MS Word, I still want to back them up this way.
I don't want any unforeseen circumstances rearing its head.

Viryabo, Same here. It's best to think the worst can happen right now and be prepared.

The video capsules are not getting saved in the PDFs. All the rest, including the images and links, are saved.

Venkatachari, in my Word versions (from which I copy/paste) I have notes to myself, written in bold, telling me where to insert photos and/or videos, and the links to the videos. I also kept a separate doc for each post giving me the titles and URLs of videos I wanted to include in each. I always made it a point to include my own photos so that wasn't an issue as far as remembering from where they originated.
