So this is annoying, it seems that some "writers" in the Network Sites (Owlcation, Hobbylark, etc.) whether real or AI, are "stealing" some of our articles by making a derivative form of them.

Are the HP team aware of this? Maybe they already are and are ignorant about it because they may be getting a cut from the article mining lol

So much for moving our articles to Discover, it's lesser popular lesser quality counterpart.

I've deleted and moved 2 of my articles that had been made derivative and transferred them to  HPs competitors out of spite.

    Sample 1

    https://owlcation.com/humanities/facts- … even-moons
    The Owlcation Editors
    https://owlcation.com/curiosities/eerie … f-biringan
    Hunter Ponder

    Sample 2
    https://owlcation.com/humanities/analyz … n-of-greed "by" Sara Campbell

    https://discover.hubpages.com/literatur … busterismo by me

Just because I'm inactive here doesn't mean I'm not aware.

If anything, please keep a look out for your articles that may have also been derivatively written in these network sites

You can send a DMCA notice to Arena (the company that owns Hubpages) for removal of the content. Doesn't matter whether you have deleted your originals, or not. Arena takes its responsibilities under the DMCA provisions of the U.S. Copyright Act seriously.

For those who have had their content stolen by TAG, please file a DMCA for copyright infringement. If enough of us do this, it will set a precedent for preventing future websites from stealing content from writers like ourselves, and it will put an end to this flagrant behavior.

Many people have saved and deleted their articles. I deleted over 200.

Unfortunately, there have been some cases where deleted content has shown up on the TAG sites. For anyone curious, DMCA still works in that situation.

Unfortunately, deleting articles doesn't appear to save them at all.

I meant to state that "doesn't save them," means that deleteing them doesn't prevent them from popping up on one of TAGS' platform sites.

Hello! A few of us are having conversations about the mined content and related issues. I have an email group if you want to talk more openly. AndreaLawrenceWriting@gmail.com.

Ced and Kenna are right about DMCA takedowns.

I just created another way just to spite: after migrating your articles, edit your existing one here by hiding ALL the elements but one, a text element that states that you have moved your article to a different platform. smile

That would redirect a chunk of that traffic to your migrated platform, at least.

No, but HP can't earn from them being on Discover any more. Especially as staff are not transparent about the revenue cut HP takes.

The Owlcation version seems to have been removed.

Yes. The more writers who file DMCA against TAG for what appears to be stealing our content, the better for everyone.
