So I finally backed up and deleted all my writings. Good thing was that I always made a special map on my pc for each article, including text and photos. In the past I already copy/pasted and saved them in Word. Now I've used the Ctrl-P and saved them again in the PDF format. It was saying Goodbye to 11 years HP and before that Squidoo.
I've deleted all my photos too, which took me a few hours to complete. I had to because I always used my own photos in my articles. It felt a bit sad, like I was deleting myself from the internet.
I know I don't speak/write perfect English, because it's not my native language. In the beginning I was thankful towards the editors to show me the right way. However later on I sometimes laughed, because the editors started to edit articles that were already edited. And sometimes it made me mad because they changed my writings into theirs without knowing shit about the subject. So I stopped writing new stuff.
I always enjoyed the discussions on the forum. Learned a lot by just reading. Soon there will be no more clicking HP each morning and then you all will be a very dear memory until the day I'll die (or loose my marbles, whatever comes first).
I'll write a poem one day
just to let you know
that I love you, to tell you
that time spend together
meant a lot
for I was not seeking
yet I found you
how can I express my feelings
write them down
in simple lines
in choosen words
not always right
in spelling
but does it matter?
you will understand
what it is I'm saying
someday I'll write a poem
for you my friends
bound as we are in passion
I'm still working on saving mine to pdfs...I think it is a good option.
We are bonded together through our words. That will not change.
I wonder what is happening?. I've been unable to post anything lately. Can anybody enlighten me? Is HubPages closing down?
Yes, it's shutting down. You should have received an email about this. If you look under the official announcements on the forums, you can read all the details about it.
New articles and edits to existing articles were disable on 11/19/2025.
I saved all my articles to PDFs. But some of them got blurred, here and there, by ad blocks. Even then, I can rewrite those blocked portions when publishing on my new site.
The PDF isn't great for poetry, but I can still save my work this way. I'll just have to separate it later. It's like a story in paragraphs.
0I unfortunately was unable to save all my images with the articles before the edit feature shut down. I have most of them on my computer, but they are all willy-nilly, and the image sources will have to be looked up again. I think I'm going to put them on Blogger as an online source until I find something that's better. At least they will be online accessible.
0I'm super happy with republishing on Blogger! I like that you can link similar articles with labels. The formatting takes a little getting used to, but overall it's a good fit for me. : )

Apparently, the editors are now working on the Spinditty niche site. They edited two of my articles today and I found blazing errors in each.In my Sawyer Fredricks article they deleted a video because it's become private since I first posted. However, they didn't delete the introductory sentence to...

I am pretty insulted. Sorry, but it had to be said. I had written an article on here that had done really well. In fact, it was one of my top earners. I went to answer a comment on it, and I stared at it for at least five minutes. I no longer recognised it! The photos had been changed, the writing...

I joined HubPages about 1 year ago and I have only written 13 hubs. Out of these 13 only 2 hubs are getting good traffic. That's why I deleted 11 hubs and left these 2 hubs on here. I'm not sure if I should go on with writing here. I think I would still keep my account because I like the HubPages...

I joined HP nine years ago and was quite active for a while but then other things got in the way.. The thing is, money kept dribbling in. Not much, but enough and often enough that it finally caused me to come back. I’ve recently posted several new articles and am enjoying writing again.I’m also...
