Well folks, I have pdfs of my pages, but then i have to copy/past or convert them and copy and paste to get them published again.  This really bites. i don't know what happened or why but it really feels like we were violated.  I didn't expect to become rich off this site, but it was an easy way to refer people to my writing. has anyone else found another site to publish their work and generate revenue?    I am probably going to try and start another blog (I considered hubpages a blog for a bit). This sucks so much. I put so much work into the site originally.....and now it is all for naught

Many Hubbers are posting on Medium, Finn.

I have built my own website for my hubs.

I know a lot of people are moving to Medium, but I don't recommend it.  It is going down the tubes just like HubPages.  I've been writing on Medium since 2020 and despite having more reads, followers and subscribers than ever, my earnings have decreased each year.  Each time they announce a new "improvement" to their earnings program, earnings decrease.

Do a search on Medium for topic "Medium" and see what people have been writing about earnings.  You don't have to be a member to read the articles since Medium doesn't allow articles about the platform to be placed behind the paywall. It's a real eye-opener.

Yes, Medium, Finn. Some have joined Vocal, others Substack, but I like Medium.

But you need a paid Medium membership if you have to earn.

The Google Blogger platform is good for free blogs. You can earn after your blog gets approved by AdSense.

I've backed up everything and am shifting stuff to Medium. I don't expect to make any money but I'm damned if I'm gonna let TAG gain ownership of my work.

At the end of the day, they're a private company so they can close down a section of their business if they wish. I don't really feel "violated". The cozy relationship that existed in the early years of HP ended years ago.

What concerns me more is the wider issue that AI is effectively sidestepping intellectual property rights without giving any compensation for the original creators of the material they draw from. That's not a TAG problem, it's way bigger.

I can't see much future in writing generally.

I agree about AI. It feels so much like cheating. For real writers and authors it makes me feel what's the point? But we will see.

I'm almost hitting the 10-year mark, but truth be told, other than a handful of people I've privately corresponded with, I don't have much attachment. Hubpages has always just been a place to make money. Many things about it also make it an unpleasant place to spend too much time on.

That being said, it is still sad to see a major content platform devolve to this extent. Previously active, dedicated writers are literally glad to purge their hubs, out of terror and disgust over their writings being reused or spun without permission. The niche sites, or whatever they should now be called, were visually and technically outdated from the day they were implemented. Barely anything was ever done.

It's a tragedy that is an insult to hard work, devotion, and creativity.

I agree with you, Paul, and others too. I am experiencing the same issue with AI. They keep on scrolling through my blogs. The actual views are not even one-fifth of the total.

I literally just joined Medium this week. So far, it seems like a good place. Commenting (!) on articles, just like the old days here. There are niche publications within Medium, so it's easy to find a spot where your writing interests fit best.

No idea whether I will make any money or not. But that wasn't my primary goal in joining the site.
