  How old are your kids? Boys/girls? (If, of course, you don't mind me asking, I know some people don't like to talk about personal stuff online, and I totally get that.) But, the reason I ask is, I nearly fell off my chair laughing when you said they were chanting "faces made of meat!" I have a 5yr old boy, and that sounds right up his alley!

  also you can never have too many videos and photos - and tapes - my kids used to carry around a little pink tape recorder and make up songs and once they pretended to have their own radio station! they have the tapes now and get a lot of fun from listening to themselves

  That's a great idea. I bought a new digital camera about 2 yrs back, and I made sure it could do video clips w/ sound. Its not the greatest quality, but its a small enough camera that I can always carry it around w/ me. My 5yr old loves to see himself.

  I do agree about the age though. I only jest about being old (I just feel it some days more than others when I'm really tired.) I know some people feel like life is over when they get out of their 20's. That's bunk. There's so much left to do! I do think that circumstances can intervene, sometimes, but mostly, you are as "old" as you choose to be. In fact, I've learned to appreciate life so much more now that I am a bit older and more mature. And, I wouldn't trade a laugh line!

  That sucks! Glad things are alright now. We had a rough winter here too (nothing serious, but lots of little bouts of illness.) The hubby and I struggled w/ sick time, etc. at our jobs. Its a no-win situation a lot of times.

  The place I used to work at has something called FAB time...every two weeks you would get eight hours in FAB time. THis time had to be used for everything...sick time, personal days, and holidays....being sick and having to use time for the holidays killed me...they were not understanding at all...I had been there for almost 5 years too....

  I'm with you! I started out just wanting a few minutes to myself to write and get the creative juices flowing again, now I'm so thoroughly enjoying the challenge of learning something new.   I'm still on. Pinging is basically where you submit your hubs to different search engines based in blogs, yahoo, etc. It's pretty quick and easy to do, tripled my traffic within a day or two.
  
  All you have to do is go to pingler.com, scroll down to where it says "Submit your site," enter the title of your hub, copy/paste the URL, and click submit. It takes a minute or two, but the window that opens up will show you 90 some odd sites where your hub is now searchable.
  
  Hope that helps, it really increased my traffic when I first learned about it

  Oli - I'm just starting to get my feet wet with all of this... I started trying to learn about referrals and trackers the other day. I'm getting the idea, but does it make sense to use a tracker when using a site like pingler or shetoldme for my own hubs?
  
  Figured I'd see if I could catch you here before I posted yet another newbie question to Knowledge Exchange. (I've been trying to find the answer in hubs and forums and FAQ, but can't.)

  Personally I would just use the normal link since most of teh places Pingler pings are simple search engines.
  
  I personally don't use pinging services, so while I can write a guide on how to use them, I don't really have any indepth knowledge on how they benefit you!

  I pinged several of my hubs today. I already have increased traffic, obviously. YOu can go back in the next day and re-ping it. I'm going to try re-pinging under different categories because there didn't seem to be a specific category for some of mine.

Got offline while the kids were napping, and not back on until they were asleep! (Ranch home where sound really travles... can't turn the sound up on the laptop!) So, I'll have to catch Hokey's voice tomorrow.

Just a very quick hello... and goodbye! Maybe I'll catch ya'll later. Gonna try to finish up a hub at somepoint.. just depends on whether or not I can avoid the guilt of the dishes,laundry,unswept floor etc.
