Shetoldme.com is a bookmarking site. As many hubbers recommend it in their hubs. I just want to know how many of you got some success with shetoldme to promote and make some money for your hub.

    Thank you.

Well saltysacks, just use the absolute maximum words in the title and the descriptions of your shetoldme backlink and then find other places to backlink and promote.

Small success can be attained with Shetoldme.com and greater success can be achieved with a more focused approach.

Edit: sorry I put your name as saltysacks, my eye sight is playing up today!

I'm fairly new to the games but I can relay my experience so far.

My first hub was published on 2/11, and traffic for the first 30 days was 389.  I joined shetoldme on 3/20 and my current total traffic is 877.

Shetold me traffic makes up less than a percent for my total traffic and no money so far. I've been a member for months. I can go a week without a single click from there.

I have been on shetoldme for 1 week and have not received one click yet.

Several of my hubs keep getting some good traffic from shetoldme - its easy to link there and so worth the small bit of trouble.

I haven't seen much traffic to hubpages from shetoldme, but I write on Squidoo as well and I have some of my lenses over there that have recieved quite a bit of traffic from there.   I have had cases where a lens, a shetoldme link and xomba link have all appeared on the first or on the first and second pages of google so I like that.   Mind you shetoldme seems to have lost abit of the google juice as far as my recent postings have gone.

Only 0.008% of my page impressions are from shetoldme, however 34% of my google earnings are from there......I should add that I don't make much through google atm.

I figure that it's a backlink that's relatively easy to create and it's obviously making me some money so it has to be a good thing.

I've only made a few cents from the site, but I look at it as a source of high quality backlinks more than a revenue generator.

Between SheToldMe and Chitika on that site I've made less than a dollar, but about 80% the traffic to my hubs is from search engines and I credit backlinks like those at STM as a big part of that!

Its impossible to gauge the 'success' if your reasons are not solely for direct monetisation.

Like Sunforged mentioned, there are several hubs about this site, I have talked about it in 3 of mine (I'm the biggest referrer on there as a result).

I use the site for quick and easy free DoFollow backlinks, in fact I have 'scooped' 246 of my hubs and intend to do the rest.

If your real question is "Do you make much money from AdSense on SheToldMe.com" then the answer from me is "no". I make the occassional dollar. Perhaps down to about $10 per month now, I don't really check, the occassional massive click accounts for most of that. My direct traffic from the site is minimal, perhaps 50 a day on a good day.

But that occassional dollar is nothing more than a bonus. Has SheToldMe helped, alongside several other DoFollow bookmarking sites, helped to push my hubs up SERPS? "Probably".

There is no doubt in my mind at all that my wider backlinking activities have played a part in helping me to achieve the 12000+ daily page views that I now achieve on Hubpages. Whether SheToldMe has significantly contributed to that I do not know, but I certainly have no reason to change my strategy.

In case you wonder what my strategy is, a degree of insight can be gained through reading this hub http://hubpages.com/hub/Increase-adsens … ring-sites

Although I now do a bit more, which will be divulged in a new hub once I get back into using this site...

I am really doing a lot better with Xomba and Snipsly.
So much in fact I'm thinking about letting Shetoldme rest for awhile.
I wont quit it yet, but right now according to my traffic info, I am getting zero traffic from STM, and of course, zero clicks, so STM has moved way down on my priorities list.

Do a search on Hub Pages for Bookmarking sites.
There are tons of great authors out there with a lot more knowledge about it than me, and they are very helpful.
I knew almost nothing about Bookmarking till I started following some of the guys (and girls) here.

I don't make much money from She Told me, nor are teh backlinks particularly high value. But they ARE do-follow, which is an increasingly rare benefit for a social bookmarking website.

Most of my submissions seem to get archived though, kinda sucks because I would like to get more of my articles on the first page!

  18. Super Chef profile image60

I hardly generate any traffic or money from shetoldme and as yours thisisoli mine keep getting archived also think out of 40 scoops only 2 have ever been promoted.

SheToldMe is quite new - and doesn't have a lot of traffic... however, in time, it will have, as it grows.... so it's worthwhile plugging away with it, just to see in 2-3 years' time how things have worked out.

I think the current problems with SheToldMe are:

1] The wait from when you join up, to getting the OK (mine took a week, then I received an email saying they'd sent me an email and I hadn't verified - the first email simply didn't exist).  I am organised, so could pick it up from there and do something with it, before I became organised a week later would have been no good I'd have just forgotten it/lost the plot/forgotten why I joined.

2] People aren't entirely sure what to do with it once they're logged in, I wrote a free PDF book to get them signed up/logged in and doing their first scoop (v1).  Only wrote that yesterday (6 bliddy hours!!), so no idea if that's working/helping yet, but after one day I doubt it smile

  20. earner profile image81
    earnerposted 13 years ago

I just checked, my first 2 scoops are still "queued" after 23 hours and 29 hours.  0 referrals.

    smile

    I expected as much.

It's all a long-term game... this money lark.... keep doing it, whatever it is.  The short-term results tend to give you a false impression that things are useless.
