Srsly, I can has tattuing buterfliz on evry lizt of "suggest links" haubz?
If this startling topic has already been investigated here in the august halls of Hubonia, my sincerest apologies. However, when I try to choose a good link from the list, I am always mystified at the inclusion--always at the end--of hubs about tattoos, usually of the butterfly variety. It doesn't matter what the key word is that I'm searching: Lithuanian banjo smuggling, cross-country kayak racing, weasles, whatever.
Glitch?
It's a sinister move on the part of tattoooooists everywhere to infiltrate hubs by lulling us into being used to seeing the tattoo links all the time (like the cop who sat at the end of our street every morning, to catch folk who didn't come to a complete stop before pulling out onto the road; and yes, I got so used to seeing him there that I glanced, saw nothing untoward, and pulled out without coming to a complete stop--even though it should be a yield sign, not a stop sign, for crying out loud, and he gave me a ticket, asking me did I know what I'd done, and I replied hell yes; it's what I do every morning when there ain't no cop around).
Anyway, where was I? Oh, the tat thing -- is it a subtle hint that we should be linking to these hubs, even if they have nothing to do with the words or phrases they are linking to?
If you've been noticing it that clearly, it's obviously not subtle. If you add tatooing to your your list of tags - or someone else's list of tags - It will show up on their list.
I say just ignore it unless you're really interested in how people like to deface their bodies. Maybe there should also be a tag for "grafiti".

Oh, so that's where it comes from? Thanks for the info. It just struck me as strange. I have nothing against tattoos. I have one, and wrote a hub about it, so that's why.
Just seems odd that hubs about tattoos would appear on a list of links to Shakespeare's England, College preparation, James Joyce, or daycare facilities. . .
I have never, ever, seen butterfly tattoos as a suggested tag on any of my hubs. Perhaps it is the universe's way of suggesting that you could do with a small, discreet tattoo somewhere. Just a thought.
alzo, just another thought
lately, everytime I look for a file on my own private , unnetworked, computer I get Wacky Advice Number 3 (a file for my Wacky Advice hub, week number 3) but I am not looking for anything that is in that Wacky Advice file! Maybe my computer is trying to remind me that I have still not written the latest one - Wacky Advice Week 7 - I think.
anyway, my wacky advice to you is to just get the tattoo and see if those tag suggestions don't go away!
Banjos like you wouldn't believe. And weasels. But that's another story for another day--besides, I gotta go give myself a discrete tattoo, so I'm too busy.
I thought that a 9" x 9" depiction of the Seige of Lisbon would be discrete.
I have a safety pin and some coal, so I'm all set.
Thanks, Mega, for giving me the fortitude to commit.
fine - but 9 x 9 may be a bit large - I was thinking more like a small skull at the base of the back of your neck - but then you couldn't do that one yourself. Tattoos can be expensive, I know.
I hope you find the time soon to do the banjo and weasels hubs! Looking forward to them!
Oh, I could do the back of my neck, no problem. It just might be a bit awkward holding the second mirror with my toes, and positioning it for a good view--my legs are a bit stiff since they took my skateboard away.
adultcontent offered me a foot massage - maybe they'll massage your stiff legs!
(don't you hate it when someone cyberly offers you something real that you would really love to have RIGHT NOW like a foot massage, and there's no way you can get it from them because they live in North Colderton and you're there in SinCity? It's just mean)
What's this I see?
Teresa is getting a tat of a Lithuanian weasel playing the banjo?
Some days I really could use a stiff one on a skateboard, Mega-kitty.
I can't believe I just typed that.
I was going to suggest a tiger ripping out of your forearm, for a tatoo. Or maybe evil tweety bird? Both seem quite discreet and lady like to me.
what is the suggest links list?
When you go to your published hubs, there is a panel at the top that says "edit | delete | stats | suggest links"
Click on the "suggest links" button, and a list appears of the hubs that correspond to the keywords that are now highlighted in your text.
Have fun!
I just dodge those ones and go with the Angel ones
But I have to say.. I'm struggling to find free space on my forehead since this ad campaign started.

I was attempting to update the links on a hub and was checking the previous links to be sure I didn't duplicate them in the same article. I was using the Suggest-a-Link tool at the time. The very first link I checked I had no memory of putting there. It seemed strange because I seldom...

I am okay at writing and can go way more in depth then I have, however I am not sure it is necessary to have a good profitable hub. I only do things that are fun to me, but I was just wondering about a couple things.1.) I am suggesting links using the suggested links in hubpages, now I knows its...

I'm planning an advice hub where somehow or other people will ask advice - the advice will be wacky - I think it would be great if I could get one or two other hubbers to also contribute their advice (on the same questions) and so instead of it just being my wacky advice, it could be two or three...
