   for a week! We're headed to Florida with the kids and grandkids, and I've been forbidden to take a computer. I'm not sure the rental house has Wifi, anyhoo.
   
   We're staying on a saltwater river, just a few minutes by boat to great uninhabited islands with beautiful gulf beaches. We'll have a big pontoon boat for several days.
   
   Just wanted to let you guys know. I know how we worry about each other!

   oh- whew!  ya had me going there for a minute!  Well, have a great vacation - a week will go by so fast, say hi to the manatees if you see any (or are they inland?) for me, give them my love and kisses, too!
   
   I think not taking a computer is the best idea - you will really, really relax!

    Bekah, we're going to the gulf, just north of Cleawater and Tampa. I don't think the oil spill or tar balls have reached that far south.

       well, hey, you'll be in my home territory! the water is fine here, beautiful, no oil!
       we go out on a boat at times to an island north of Tarpon.
       it is heaven on earth. the boats anchor near a sand bar and the sand bar is big enough for chairs, picnics, dogs. we saw a manatee very close to shore once. it was AWESOME. at first, we weren't sure what it was, and then it came up close to the surface. we see dolphins every time we go to the beach.
       
       if you have a chance, you should go on the ferry to Caladesi Island and check out Honeymoon Island, they're beautiful beaches.

             I don't have any personal pics of the island .. we jump off the boat and swim to shore.
             
             I do have a tampa bay hub with a pic of caladesi island and some of the metro area.

             at this time of year, there are boats all around it like a tail gate party.. in the gulf.

       Ron, I'm not a big fan of gator, but I do hope to bring back some shark meat, flounder, reds, snapper, trout, and/or sheepshead. Maybe some crabs, too.
       
       All y'all come on down to GA and we'll have us a fish fry! I make the best hush puppies in the world!

    Hey Habee enjoy your time off, I bet you can't wait. Vacation time is always the best time. I once rented a houseboat for a week and roughed it with my family, It was so much fun, swam, fished, camp fires on the shorelines. Loved every second of it. Take care enjoy and stay safe. Leave your laptop at home, we will all still be here when you get back. he he

    I thought of someplace else if you're going north of Tarpon Springs. If you are anywhere near Port Richey, the best Hooters in Tampa Bay is up there. it's right on the water.

    have a fabulous time. the pontoon boat sounds like fun.
    
    if you've never been to Tarpon Springs, it's a great place to visit.
    check out the sponge dock area with all the authentic Greek shops and restaurants.

          oh yes, I've been to both areas. one of the islands where we go is anclote key. I'm not aware of all of their names, there are a number of small uninhabited islands in the area. it's really very beautiful and laid back. you will enjoy it!

          Habee, I was just there. Anclote key is beautiful! I have family in New Port Richey so I visit there often. If you like to kayak, there is a beautiful kayaking trip to take down the weekiwachee river. You can rent the kayaks right at Weekiwachee. I can give you more info if you are interested. Have a good time!

             I believe she left this morning.
             there are some great waters to kayak in that area. it's called the nature coast of florida. you can even swim with the manatees which would feel good today in those refreshing spring waters. I'm pool bound this afternoon, it's hot out there. what's nice about the coast is the breeze, it always feels cooler on the water.
