I had asked a question in the question section of HP and just noticed that someone has voted down some of the meaningful answers. The amazing thing is it wasn't even about religion, it was about emotions. Why do people indulge in such behavior?
Some people will vote down because they can - I have seen a strightforward correct answer to a question (a question like: What country is Athens in? Greece) voted down before now
I think this is more like it, because the question was a straight one and the people who had answered had valid points. its kind of silly that some people do things like that just because they can! amazing
I didn't see anything subjective or unacceptable in the question or the answer.
because they disagree with the answer. I've had answers voted down, it doesn't bother me, it's just differing opinions.
I am not bothered when my answers are vote down, i have had many voted down in the religion section, I don't care if they subscribe to my views or not . But these answers were such wonderful comments on life written by three people and one un thinking person decides it is not to his/her liking.
The buttons are there for people to express their opinion, so they do.

I've seen answers and mostly were really the best possible answer to that particular question. The answer actually makes others redundant or of lesser value. So, why do these answers get a vote down?

How often do you vote a hub or an answer to a question down?I've been at HubPages for just over two weeks. I feel hurt if I know I have given a fairly good answer to a question and it gets voted down. I have not yet voted any answer down - if I don't like the answer, I just ignore it. I guess if I...

Why do you vote down an answer?I thought the purpose of voting down an answer was to get it removed because it is in bad taste. I have seen some perfectly good answers, however, voted down. Maybe I misunderstood the purpose. Why do YOU vote down an answer? And do you vote down hubs as well?

What makes you vote up or down a question?I noticed in the questions I have asked questions and some good response have been voted down. So, curiousity struck me and makes me wonder how do you determine your rating of the answers. (The answers voted down haven't been negative or had swearing in...
